2008 Mazda 6

Zoom-Zoom is made popular by Mazda and the evolution concept behind the all – new Mazda 6. This car enhanced environmental and safety performance with more emphatic Mazda character in its design, dynamic performance, packaging and craftsmanship. Mazda adopted the following key values to embody the development concept:

1 – Emotional and Sporty Design

An engaging styling and dynamic performance creates a sense of delight and kizuna – a Japanese word that implies strong emotional ties such as those found between people – when the owner looks at or drives the Mazda 6. Its captivating, sporty styling connects with the driver emotionally. It is also 65 mm longer, 15 mm wider, 5 mm taller, with a 50 mm longer wheelbase (sedan and hatchback) for more room on the inside and one of the widest boot openings in the segment, that makes the new Mazda 6 a delight to use on a daily basis.

2 – Exclusive Experience

Exquisite craftsmanship enhances the emotional connection between the customer and the car, adding to the delight of ownership. Exquisite and high quality craftsmanship makes drivers and passengers feel good. On the outside, body gaps are greatly reduced for a look of solid quality and on the inside higher quality materials are introduced for a greatly improved premium feel. And of course the Mazda 6 is supremely comfortable, with space and features for relaxed con?dence.

3 – Insightful Package

The balance of good looks and versatile packaging brings delight to daily driving. Superb balance between engaging, sporty styling and a comfortable space. Simple, easy to use, well-thought out driver interfaces and storage space. This includes an evolution of Mazda’s Karakuri rear seat system for the hatchback and estate. Besides delivering one- touch seat-drop function from a latch in the boot panel, the system now includes an all-new boot tonneau cover for the estate that automatically moves up when the rear liftgate is opened.

Driving Dynamics

The development theme for the Mazda 6′s dynamics was “driving performance that creates oneness between the car and driver. ” This was realized by an emotionally appealing, sporty performance feel, plus handling and brake performance that respond accurately to the driver’s intentions. This was achieved by a series of new features including a new, six-point mounting system for the high- mount double wishbone front suspension , the use of electric power assisted steering for a more rigid steering feel with less transmission of disturbance from the road, lowering of the car’s coef?cient of drag (Cd) to 0.27 (down from 0.30) for the sedan and hatchback, and to Cd 0.28 (down from 0.32) for the estate, and by reducing vehicle weight despite the new Mazda 6′s larger dimensions . The solid sense of security created by the con?dent, predictable handling is central to the Zoom-Zoom evolution concept embodied in new Mazda 6.

Enhanced Engine Line-Up

A new 2.5-litre petrol engine has been developed from the previous 2.3-litre unit. The MZR 2.5 has a bigger bore and a longer stroke, plus freer-?owing intake and exhaust ports which together improve low and mid-range torque by 10 percent. Power is 170 PS. Also available are the existing 1.8 and 2.0-litre petrol engines and the MZR-CD 2.0 turbo diesel, carried over from the previous Mazda 6.

Places to Eat that I Wanna Go Again – Bukit Malut, Langkawi

The last time I went to Langkawi was when I had to work at Langkawi International Dialogue (LID). Almost the entire office had flown to the island and worked our butts off to keep those Africans happy. Anyway, when we were there my friend had suggested that we go for some great local seafood because it has been a long since he last made a pig outta himself with cuttlefishes and clams. If you have been reading this website I am sure by now you would know who that friend of mine, who else but Bani!!

So about 7 or 8 of us drove in the middle of the darkness (yes it got dark really early over there for people like us who stayed in KL that hardly sleeps) in search for the true meaning of crabs. Bani suggested that we  go to a place called Bukit Malut. He said the seafood there were fresh and abundance, exotic and most importantly – delicious! Besides, he said, despite the delicious food, that place is not very popular so the odds of us bumping into others from our working delegations would be the same as bumping into a policeman that wouldn’t take any bribes – impossible!!

All of us were staying at the hotels in Pantai Cenang and Bukit Malut was almost half an hour away. I was 4 months pregnant and my alter ego,the ferocious eating monters was taking over. I cant remember who was driving but remember telling him/her to FREAKING STEP ON IT BEFORE IT EAT YOUR EAR UP!

We finally got there and the moment we pulled into the parking lot we saw Miss N and Mr A dining in the restaurant. They were our VICE PRESIDENTS! So much for not wanting to bump into our colleagues, Bani Smarty Pants!

I don’t know what was it with Bani and Mr A, I think he kinda hated his gut, so despite being the mastermind for our dinner trip, Bani refused to go over pass the bosses to the place where all the fresh seafood was presented for the diners to choose.

He trashed his body about, he did karate moves, he even threatened us with his singing! Bani refused to go over to the display table! And because the monster in me was too hungry to walk, our friends Rus and Noran went over to pick and choose what we were gonna feast on.

You guys have to understand, Noran in a girl half the size of my body and Rus is a quarter. Imagine their appetite – like little Tweety Bird’s! No! Like the appetite of Tweety Bird with anorexia! So when the food came, and even after having the lion’s share, Bani was complaining why the girls had ordered so little. Well if he had wanted to order a whale masak kicap and walrus goreng tepung he should have moved his butt and went to picked up the fresh seafood himself right? Lazy bum!

So we enjoyed our food, had a great chit chat, gossiped a whole lot little bit. Later when we asked for the bill, it came less than 200 bucks, so cheap and best of all, FULLY PAID!

By Miss N and Mr A.

Bani screamed with frustration! “If only I knew”, he said, “I would have gotten up and ordered the whaleeeeeee!!!!”

These were some of what we had that day, they were marvelous. Other than these crabs and siput pinang, we also had lots of fish, prawns, calamari, crayfish etc served with white rice, vegetables and fruits.

I will definitely go there again.
