How to make a Terrarium Workshop with Yuna and Malaysian Airlines Enrich Junior Program

Last week, Miki and I received an exclusive invitation an equally exclusive event with Yuna, the international singer so famous,she needs no introduction. The event was organized by Enrich, the loyalty program for Malaysia Airlines.

I was very pleased with the invitation because of three reasons, one – YUNA!! Wow! Love her! two – Miki gets to build his own enchanted forest in glass bowl! He loves that! Miki loves gardening too! and third – this is Enrich Malaysia Airline, we are frequent flyers so does this mean kids get to collect points too? Great!

Anyway, the “Build Your Own Tiny Forest with Yuna workshop”, #EnrichYunaTinyForest , was held at Yuna’s boutique in Subang Jaya. I know Yuna has a terrarium business and I follow her instagram @tinyforestsj where they make amazingly beautiful terrariums selling at affordable prices. I didn’t know however, they she hosts workshops for kids.

So off we went last Saturday, thanks to Enrich Malaysia Airlines and once I entered November Culture, me being a gardening enthusiast, I entered a cacti terrarium heaven…

There were many other kids and their parents as well, the place was beautifully decorated and we were waiting for Yuna herself to arrive and conduct the workshop.

Yuna arrived with happy smiles on her face! She is as pretty as her voice and singing! 🙂

Anyway, Miki earlier was given a place complete with tools and everything to make his own enchanted forest. He got to choose his favourite cactus and a small toy animal to pun on his terrarium.

Tools, soil, pebbles and colorful sand… 🙂

Even the tiny animals are really cute, Miki chose a rooster, because he likes to eat chicken katanya! hahaha

Yuna explained to all the kids on how to make a terrarium and use their imagination. FYI, Yuna, being the famous singer/songwriter  is the Social Media Ambassador for Malaysia Airlines. Yuna is of course a frequent traveler and steadily rising to the top of the field in the United States.

Yuna is also sharing her journeys throughout the world which can be viewed from the Amazing Journeys Tab on the MAS YouTube Channel.

Yuna taught all the kids step by step on how to make terrarium starting with putting in the pebbles, then the soil etc… Wah, Miki was so lucky, Yuna spent a lot of time teaching him, OK lah considering the was the youngest in the group….

For Miki, terrarium is nothing new although we don’t use the term terrarium at home. He has made one with Daddy at home, several months ago after we came back from Cameron Highlands using 5 0r 6 small cacti. At home we didn’t use a glass bowl but we used a small round and flat garden pot instead, due to safety reasons. Miki decorated his with colored tiny pebbles that people use in aquariums. He loves his little cactus garden but now he even more loving the new glass terrarium. 🙂

I was also very pleased to find out about the Enrich Jr Program by Malaysia Airlines. Last time we used to think that frequent flying kids can just collect points through their parent’s membership but now, MAS has made it special for children as young as 2 years old to start earning points.

Miki has already registered and if your kids haven’t there are two easy ways to start collecting points :

1) Register online at the MAS website and earn 1000 instant points
2) Register via MAS mobile application and earn 2000 points! Wallah!

If I knew this earlier, we could have earn quite a lot from our travels to Europe and USA recently… hmmmm…. rugi…

Thanks MAS and Yuna for inviting us and I am glad my son learnt a great deal during the workshop. I highly encourage Moms and Dads to get your kids involved with gardening and if you don’t have space at home,I am sure you have space for terrariums. Can’t wait to start collecting points for Miki using his new Enrich Jr.
