I was only aware that the magazine was released when my girlfriend Shima  (thanks dearie!) uploaded snapshots of the pages to my FB on Sunday morning. I looked at the online photos and went “Damn I look pretty!” hahaha!

We only managed to buy a copy (two actually hik! hik!) by evening but I could only bring myself to browse through the pics of myself and not read the story because…. AKAK MALU UOLS! *pengsan* So when Azman has read it I eagerly asked about the article and he said he just felt like reading one of my blogs.

Hahaha! Of course darling… I had a written interview! I made it easy for the journalist Kimberley Lau. (thanks Kim, and gosh you have such interesting career! ) Anyway the story was not too long, just nice but HAVE YOU SEEN MY PICTURES???

On 286, I filled an entire page! *pengsan lagi* If you see page 354, The Biggest Loser Asia’s Dave Nuku got one page only you know…  I got THREE (3) hmmmppphh kembang hidung berlagak…

Everything around me was my own collection of Manchester United merchandise, some are for sale but mostly are just mine including the duvet set, muffler scarf, caps, luggage tag, flag, lanyards etc. Not visible in the photos are my collections on M.U stuff in white and pink and my David Beckham print panties.

On 287, there goes another me sitting down holding that Nike Manchester United ball. Kim made a pullout quote from my statement about Azman. I like that! That’s really sweet… Did I mention I got THREE (3) pages?

On page 288, there’s even a bigger photo of me holding the hat autographed by Bryan Robson.But it was a little sad that I couldn’t produce the picture of Azman, Bryan Robson, myself and our friend Azwar in high resolution. Kim ended up using it as a super tiny thumbnail at bottom  right. Huhu! Azman jokingly said ada muka dia kecik giler pun jadilah! hahaha!

So finally on Monday night, I pulled myself together, find the courage within me and read the story. Miki came up close to me so I showed him my pictures in the THREE (3) pages and said “Look Miki, Mummy is in a book!” He doesn’t know the word magazine yet! Hehe… And Miki just looked without saying anything. Like so what? What’s the biggy deal?

When I showed his Daddy’s little photo, Miki said “Mummy! Daddy! Mummy! Daddy!” repeatedly. Then when I pointed at his little Manchester United sweater that was hanging beside me on page 286 however, Miki automatically jumped with joy! “Jacket Miki! Jacket Miki ni! M.U Mikiiiii!”

He jumped around, he guling-guling on the floor, he did his jiggy dance and cheered with joy.

Azman and I laughed our head off. But I don’t really understand this boy, was he jumping about because even though his own picture was not featured he was still super happy that his jacket was or did all the cheering mean he loves his M.U jacket more than his Mummy? *sentapz*

There is another thing that makes me wanna pengsan bangun pengsan bangun about the article. It is actually about the ad positioning in FEMALE magazine. I must say that the editor is genius. To manipulate her reader’s attention into absorbing all the messages that the advertisement is sending out; she put a huge photo of me on one page and put a breast enhancement advertisement on the next. Yes you read it right, gambar aku sebesar-besar alam itu di sebelah IKLAN T*T*K OKAYY!!!!! *pengsan*

Sama besar ok, gamba aku dengan gamba model iklan nenen tu… so kira ni secara tak langsung boleh jadi gambar before and after la kan… Huuwaaaaaa!!

The party was held with a theme ‘United against drunk driving’. It was great and it had lots of fun and entertaining football related activities, including football puzzles, football cubes, interactive X-box football console games, and foosball tables. Really ttractive prizes was offered, including original Manchester United Jerseys, Caps, and Bar Mats for the winners. Special guest-DJs, Desire and Nicky C, together with host Joey G, pumped up the adrenaline in the air with great dance music.

But the most exciting thing about the party to us was not the games and stuff but the opportunity to meet BRYAN ROBSON,  the Manchester United Legend who was travelling with the Manchester United Team in the Asia Tour 2009. He was longest serving Captain of M.U and he was also the Captain of England football team.

Cool huh? The last time I played foosball was when I was about 16 or 17 when my and my girlfriends were hanging out at Bukit Jambul Complex in Penang ( kampong!! Hanya Tuhan membalas!). Now after I had beaten my hubster 2 games in a row, I am thinking about getting one of these tables for our new home.. hehehe! Can?

When we decided to take him to the game I have already known that we need to bring lotsa toys and food to keep him occupied. I was afraid Miki would get bored and starts turning the stadium into his own playground or worse, crying! But in the end I had forgotten the toys so Miki was left playing “writing” on my little notebook and pen. He scribbled on almost all pages of the book and HIS TUMMY! Hahaha.. We have taken his shirt off earlier due to the heat.

 
It turned out that Miki had behaved very well throughout the game mainly because the loud cheer especially after the goals had spooked him up a lil bit. He held us really tight when the applause got too loud. Hehe. But on other times he joined us cheering too. Like the times when everybody was chanting Owen! Owen! Owen! Miki joined in waving his hands and yelled “Bewen! Bewen! Bewen!” Cute!

 During the few last minutes before we start our journey back home from the stadium Miki fell asleep on my shoulder. I said journey because we had parked the car in the middle of jackfruit wilderness somewhere in TPM. Which is very far far away. Bukit Jalil Sports Complex could cater to say.. 100,000 people but the transportation facilities around it is badly constructed. You all know how Star LRT can be very slow and if I had taken the train I bet would have vomit blood and left a vegetable from oxygen depreciated brain damage. And that was the reason why we didn’t follow Azman to the rematch on Monday.

Anyway the game was not so bad, Manchester United 3 Malaysia 2 and the M.U players played like they were just training. The Malaysian team needs better moral support and self esteem. To me they seem to be malu-malu kucing against world top football stars. Sighh…

Ever since the news of Manchester United coming to Malaysia as a part of the Asia Tour 2009, we have been pretty busy. Collaboration deals has doubled and sponsors came pouring in. In conjunction with the ManUtd Asia Tour 2009 alone, we had sponsors from many renowned brands from beverages, to TV channels to sportswear to home décor and so much more.

The experience that we had last Friday was one of the best experiences we have had ever as Manchester United fans. And who would ever knew? We got to experience it just because we are  bloggers!

Last Friday, FOUR MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYERS LOOKED AT ME IN THE EYES AND MY DONGGA HEAD! I SHOOT TWO QUESTIONS ESPECIALLY TO RIO FERDINAND! Go ahead and call me a biyatch!! I AM SO BOASTING about it! Hahahha

We had been invited to NIKE MALAYSIA – MANCHESTER UNITED ASIA TOUR 2009 media conference held in conjunction of NIKE5 Challenge finale by NIKE MALAYSIA. This maybe nothing for some of you but hey it was really cool for us, ok? Like why would anybody wanna invite this design engineer geek and his sarcastic blogger wife (that’s very kampong hanya tuhan membalas) to cover such an exclusive Media Conference with the hottest football stars? NIKE did, thanks guys for acknowledging BLOGS AS EMERGING NEW POWERFUL MEDIA! Hooray!

So off we went, Azman and I with our friend Nize seated among other members of the media (and other bloggers too)  waiting for the players to make an appearance. In front of me were guys from TV3 and ESPN. Beside me was another journalist from Malay Mail and behind me BERNAMA. When the BERNAMA reporter asked Nize which newspaper he was from, all three of us well, didn’t really know what to answer. Hahaha! As a nature of work at the office, I had been organizing many-many media conferences for my bosses, the Minister and ever Prime Minister but when it comes to me becoming THE REPORTER, I was excited. Hehe.

After the long wait finally Rio Ferdinand, Fletcher, Gibson and Nani came out followed with loud applause. As they open the floor for about 4-5 questions only, I was so nervous because I MUST ASK A QUESTION!

I DID NOT COME ALL THE WAY JUST TO WATCH RIO FERDINAND’S AMAZING NOSTRILS THE PLAYERS’ HOT BODIES IN PERSON WITHOUT ASKING QUESTION. THIS IS DIYANA YANG YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! I AM THE TALKING EXPERT! I WANTED TO SCREAM – GIMME THAT FREAKING MICROPHONE, I WANT TO ASK THAT FREAKING QUESTION!!

Then I took a deep breath and calm down.

And when the last question opportunity came I JUMPED UP and shoot a question to the M.U player. Some other guy before me had asked Nani what he feels about visiting Malaysia for the first time and I thought , OMG! That question is so lame! If only Ronaldo was with M.U, I really wanted to ask why did Paris Hilton dumped him but now that he was no longer with M.U I had to think of something else. Hahaha.

Ladies and gentlemen, fans of Manchester United, kindly contain your jealousy while you watch me communicate with THE RIO FERDINAND in this video.

We have several events lined up for today, I am very excited. Manchester United VS Malaysia is happening at Bukit Jalil Stadium tomorrow 18 July 2009. As you are reading this, our fave ManUtd stars have already checked in at the secret hotel in KL. hehe..

There was nothing in the world that my husband could talk about but the MU coming to town and kicking our local team on the butt hard. He has been working on his blog more, entertaining dozens and dozens of queries from MU fans from all over the globe and he has been getting really cool offers too but the wife and child is slowly left behind.

Tidak mengapalah. Isterimu pasrah. Kalau abang lapar nanti amiklah jersey-jersey bola tu buat sandwich dengan kiwi kasut. Yesterday night we went to Al-Ikhsan in Subang Parade to get the tickets. When the young punk behind the register announced that they are sold out, I had to replaced Azman to do the talking. Because he had frozen solid. You should see the way blood drained from his face and it turned pucat kelabu asap.

I was afraid too. I cannot have Miki growing up without his father because his father is away in Tanjung Rambutan because he missed the Malaysia vs ManUtd game. So I offered to help get the tickets from Al-Ikhsan in Alamanda Putrajaya today.

Which I did. I went with Farali, another devoted wife to devoted Manchester United fan, battling the piercing hot sun from the office to the parking lot, dealt with the amazingly many people in Alamanda that uses their kneecaps for thinking and finally ran so brutally fast to the sports store and HOORAY we got the tickets!

Farali and I pun dengan penuh kegembiraan berjalan-jalan manja berpegangan tangan kegirangan pulang ke pejabat dengan hati berbunga-bunga. Tomorrow we have to go again to pick up the training passes.
