Open letter to my son – the moment you turn one!

Dear Luth Mikael,

Your Daddy and I were very excited about your first birthday. Looks like we have successfully brought you up from a tiny little newborn baby into a tiny little toddler. You didn’t suffer any broken bones and we also didn’t lose you at the mall, so we guessed we are not so bad being parents.

We wanted to take photos of you at 12.50am, 17 January 2009 because it was the exact time you were born a year ago. We expected you to be asleep already by then but it turned out that I was the one snoring and you were still happily playing and roaming the bedroom.

Your Daddy patiently took your photos anyway. These were taken between 12.47-12.51am. You celebrated the anniversary of my first e.p.i.s.i.o.t.o.m.y by playing Doctor-doctor! WITH CAT THE CAT!

I couldn’t stop feeling so amazed when your Daddy told me in the morning how you dipped the syringe in your Adidas and then push it to Cat the Cat’s mouth. I bet you’re imagining the shoe as the medicine bottle and Cat as the sick little baby. Haha! You even gripped Cat’s tummy just like I gripped you to make him sit still. Haha!

Luth Mikael Azman, exactly one year old…

Mummy and Daddy is so proud of you, Miki! We are very happy that you can use your imagination and observation of our everyday activities into play and learning.

Happy Birthday, son.. May Allah the Almighty bless you always with happiness and health..

Love,
Mummy

Pulau Dayang Bunting can make you take silly photos…

When we went to Langkawi in early January, we have taken so many photos and I love almost all of them. They are all absolutely goofy and funny and entirely NONE are pretty. Or at least portray the pretty side of me. Actually you are meant to never find the pretty sides of me because… umm.. well MY DAD HAVE BURIED THEM! With the placenta that I was born with.. 21 years ago! Damn!

Anyway…

Here are some of the pictures taken on the boat ride from Langkawi Island to Pulau Dayang Bunting (Pregnant Maiden Island) and on the island itself. For those who haven’t been there, the hills on the island create an illusion of a pregnant lady thus the name of the island. Can you make out the shape here?

Pregnant Maiden Island

Our island hopping trip started very early in the morning, so we had to wake the baby and drive up to the beach side where the boats were waiting. Miki was actually very-very sleepy but he was so cool and instead of getting all cranked up he just got amazingly obedient! And when I asked him to smile to the camera, Miki gave me this look. Haha I think he looked so cartoonish in this photo… His grin could have just been Photoshoped!! ?

Miki is not into camwhoring so much when sleepy…

 Don't get pregnant

Oh no! There is magic on the lake! Beware!

From the jetty we need to do a little bit of hiking on the stone steps and then down towards the amazingly beautiful Lake Dayang Bunting. The water was deep emerald, and calm ripples reflects the sun so captivatingly. The lake is outlined with green lush hills and at that time the wind was blowing so refreshingly THAT MY HAIR TURNED INTO A FREAKING MESS.

The local authorities ( I think) have built platforms on the edge of the lake to create a safer swimming environment. They even provide changing rooms for men and women, and a little pool for children. It blemish the scenery yes, but to accommodate many visitors at one time, I believe the facilities are much needed. Here is Miki splashing like nobody’s business in the kiddy pool. The water was teeming with fish. It was a unique experience. Other kids, tourists from all over the globe I figured, saw how excited Miki was and immediately join him waddling the cool water too! Haha..

Swimming

After some time, Miki got over-excited and tried to drink the clear water, we pulled the allegedly sleepy baby from the lake, he wriggled and squirmed, wanted more splashing but when your parents say you are done, then you are done kid! I was dead scared, you know if you drink some of the lake water, you might conceive soon thereafter? What if Miki pass the magical curse to me? Hey, I have already burnt my entire maternity underwear okay!

After we have change the baby and gave him a warm bottle, I took Miki for a walk on the platforms, enjoying the view that Mother Earth has created, and looking at the tourists too. There was a Hispanic lady with enormous fake boobs that I thought can only be found in Akon videos. There was about 20 retired Americans size of an African hippopotamus and wearing bathing suits size of Malaysian postage stamps. Then when I look into the water, I saw something more spectacular! There were many people swimming but this one particular head (the rest of the body was underwater) that I know so well!
KAK INA!!!!!

Kak Iena

I screamed at her!! What the hell girl! How come we never bumped into each other at KLCC and yet I saw your head bumping up and down the water like dugong mermaid in TASIK DAYANG BUNTING, LANGKAWI?! We laughed so hard and boy oh boy.. it was hilarious!

Hahahahaha…. It was kinda ironic, the pink shirt I was wearing said ‘I LOVE MY CRAZY FRIENDS’. Hahaha, amik ko kan dah jumpa kawan giler ko tengah-tengah hutan rimba tu. Hehe We were so happy to meet with each other we couldn’t help ourselves but to melompat-lompat kegedikan kegirangan!

Do you think the boy is better now?

Baby swimming in aquarium

We have an aquarium at home in which we used to rare same koi and guppy fish. The koi have long gone to heaven and what’s left are only three little playful guppy in 2 inch deep water. The water was left to be that much on purpose due to our worries that if ever Miki decided to dive head first and join his pets swimming, he would only drown up to his dongga head, you know the one that he inherited from me. And Albert Einstein.

This picture was taken 5 minutes before midnight, yesterday 12th Jan.  A few days after he got really sick. It was late, but Miki was showing no sign of sleepiness. He climbed on the table, started to talk to the fish and then found out that the fish was lonely. He came down again, grab a thing or two and throw in the aquarium to make tukun tiruan. It was a RM5 note and my credit card statement.

I wish I can tell the bank that I won’t be able to settle my debt because the statement has been contaminated with guppy fish shit. I also wish that RM5 when soaked with aquarium water will turn into RM50. Yeah I wish.
When Miki started to bend really low and splashing the water to catch the fish, we decided that okay! Miki must be feeling much better.

Then he lifted up one leg to try to get IN THE AQUARIUM and BATHE IN THE FISHY WATER, we decided that okay! MIKI DAH SIHAT!

MIKI DAH SIHAT! Hooray!
