Balik kampung and my best friend’s engagement

I hate it when I start writing a new blog entry with “ OMG, it has been a long time since I last updated this blog..”
But there you go, I just did it again and this time I took so long to write a new entry until I couldn’t remember what was the previous post all about. Darn!

Anyway, this time let’s see what Miki did during the three-day weekend. We went BALIK KAMPUNG! Yay! Gosh balik kampong can be so much fun! All three of us enjoyed it very much although Azman and I was dead tired after the long drive.

On Friday, my company’s Annual Dinner was held at the Royale Chulan and I had so much fun although I didn’t win any lucky draw prizes. I just have to mention the lucky draw because the grand prize was RM10,000 cash, second prize RM6,000 and third RM4,000. Other than that they gaveaway electronic items and my boss won a 32in LCD! *jealous* I am not gonna promise but if suddenly I become rajin I will post some colorful pics taken from the dinner.

After the dinner, at 3am we drove back to Kedah. Miki’s Opah cooked yummy food, we ate and ate and later in the evening we went to Ulu Legong Hot Springs for some natural sauna effect. It was very nice, I like that place.

Miki at the Pasar Malam, posing in front of all the durians. These were sold at Rm6 per kilo. Type D99 and I think I like this better than other types.

On Sunday morning we rushed to Penang for my best friend who was also my bride’s maid- Rina’s engagement. She looked so pretty and so pinang di belah dua with Tariq who flown all the way from Birmingham. I am so happy for you Rina! Congrats!

B-na, Rina, me! whaddepak my tummy berlipat-lipat..?! *stress*

Hazrina & Tariq Khan

That night I joined the guys lepak-ed at Kayu Nasi Kandar behind Vistana to watch ManUtd vs Arsenal but kalah pulak. Vavi tul! Hehe

On Monday, my sister, Ija, her hubby and kiddoes joined us for a picnic at the beach! Wahh it was so nice, I love beaches although they never fail to make me blacker than Kopi O Kapal Api. Haishhh…

Miki nampak whale ke apa Miki?

Miki, Kakak Win and Kakak Oya!

After super delicious lunch that my Mom made for us, we went out to makan some more! LOL This time we headed for some serious laksa in Balik Pulau. If you are a makan fan, you should know Laksa Pokok Janggus!

Apart from laksa, they also have delicious sesame seed banana fritters, all sorts of drinks and of course ais-kacang! Love it!

Miki terliur ke?

Opah and Daddy- This pic is taken by Miki. Not bad eh?

Kakak Win – pic also by Miki. This is a nice shot, Miki. Gambar sharp tak goyang…

Miki, Kakak Win and Baby Naufal tome-tome! Timinimini!!!

And below pics are simply because I couldn’t get enough of Cimiki Chikadee!

As we were packing our bags to go back to Kinrara late Monday evening, Miki suddenly mengamuk and upset. He wanted Arash, his 9 year old cousin to follow us laaaa, and then he wanted to stay in Penang laa… It’s breaking my heart seeing him that way, knowing he was enjoying himself so much in Kedah and Penang.

Trust me Miki, Mummy and Daddy too love to be spending time with our family members but our lives are in the Klang Valley so we have to go back. I promise we will visit your Opahs and Atuk again soon. Family is a gem so precious, Miki! I hope you will always love and treasure your family from now until forever.

We love you, Miki!

I thought those drama days were over!

Yesterday, I got up in the morning with warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy. I woke the boys up and we went to our favorite Mamak’s for an early the tarik and roti canai.

I drove to work while watching Maharaja Lawak 4 on Youtube. Jozan and Sepah were so freaking funny! They can really put up a good show and they can really cheer me up every time. In fact I have been using my mobile Youtube as a source of endorphin inducer every time I got stuck in traffic. I would watch those funny video clips that make me laugh and most of the times, it just gotta be Miki’s videos.

That’s why I love my phone so much! Just what would I do without it when I got stuck in the jam? Put on some make-up? First 3 minutes. Picit jerawat? second 5 minutes. Pluck eyebrow? No more bulu to pluck already. Apa lagi watch videos la.

Anyway, at the office I sorta got most of the stuff done by lunch time so when my colleague, Kak E asked me to join her for lunch at Amcorp Mall I said why not. We went with another 2 ladies and we had some good food at Uncle Chili’s. Sembang punya sembang.. makan punya makan… The two ladies wanted to check out the shoes store at ground floor. I was more interested in the kids’ apparel sale at the center court where I bought a couple of shirts for Miki. Then we went back to the office happily… lalala lalala…

Once I reached my desk, I opened my purse to find my phone MISSING. My few months old Iphone 4 by Steve Jobs. The one that is still bound by contract with Maxis. The one that’s giving me hopes to continue living in the world with more cars than humans.

The images of Azman making me sit down and listen to his 60 minutes lecture flashed into my mind.
I dialed my own number using my desk phone. It was ringing. There was still hope. I searched Kak E’s car from top to bottom. It was not there.

Although the panic was making me this close to vomiting my Uncle Chili lunch, I remained composed. Then I forced my friend Zila to drive me back to Amcorp. Being an Iphone user herself, she understood the feeling I had – like losing your passport or a rich boyfriend! Ehe!

Luckily Zila said okay, because if she didn’t, I would scream on top of lungs and I would strangle her with her own tudung. Of course I would do that while I remained cool and composed la.. Eh ye ke?

Once we arrived at Amcorp, I straight away go back to the cashier counter where I paid for Miki’s shirts. The staff were 2 Indonesian ladies and although they honestly denied seeing any mobile phone left on the counter, I didn’t quite believe them. Zila and I searched the piles of clothes for I might have dropped the phone there while browsing for some bargains and of course I couldn’t find it.

I almost lost hope but the phone was still ringing! That means nobody had found it yet or the founder was keeping it for me… Please God… I couldn’t afford another Iphone at this moment… gimme me back my babyyyyy….

I rushed downstairs to Uncle Chili. Asked the first waiter that I saw. I couldn’t figure out whether she was from Laos or Tibet and whether or not she understood me. Next waiter was a Bangla man. I was soooo doomed!

Lastly I asked the cashier. The Chinese lady smiled. She handed me MY IPHONE 4 BY STEVE JOBS.

Suddenly the lights turned bright and Bruno Mars sang how he loved me just the way I was. Confetti flew down from the heavens. Pink, yellow, orange and red confetti… All in the shape of hearts and bunny rabbits.

I was so happy! *tears*

I opened my purse and fished out whatever money my finger touched first. A couple of red and green came out and I insisted to give to her. ( Nasib baik tak terkail duit biru LOL).

God loves me eh? I still couldn’t believe getting back my phone that was left a restaurant. Wow!

So people, anytime you all go to Amcorp Mall. Do not ever think of eating at any other place except Uncle Chili! Hidup Uncle Chili! Hidup Uncle Chili! I lap you Uncle Chili!

Note : A few years ago I had another cellphone drama. Check it out here!
