Tips on How to Write the Best Personal Ads ::

Have you tried online dating? One of the hottest online dating sites available today is eHarmony. Founded by a famous psychologist, this relationship site is one of the most trusted in America.

This article offers tips on how to write the best personal ads that come alive and get responded to because there is one thing that will make or break your online dating efforts – your personal ad.

The first mistake most people make is creating one while at the dating site. This can be intimidating and prone to mistakes. A better way is to first make a draft on a separate piece of paper or typing program (Word, WordPerfect, Word Pad etc).

Make sure that you screen name is attractive enough. This is vital, as it helps catch prospects’ attention. When creating your screen name, you might want to consider your best qualities or interests and build it around this. This will not only tell something about you, but also offer prospects something to open up dialogue on. Try for something unique and interesting.

Just as in your screen name, you can use your headline to describe yourself, or what you are looking for. You could also incorporate one of your main interests or an interesting aspect of your personality.

Next is the body of your personal ad. You will need to describe yourself and what you want, in specific terms without sending your prospective mate to sleep. This means being descriptive and using action words. It would help to make the following four lists:

1. Things you just have to have in your life

2. Things that would be an extra indulgence in your daily life

3. Things you absolutely hate and will not tolerate

4. What are your hobbies and interests

Making the above lists will help will help dig deep into yourself and you find things to write about. It also helps in answering profile questions, both multiple-choice and essay-type.

In eHarmony, you are required to tell your potential dates about yourself. Imagine you are talking to someone seated right there in front of you. Tell him or her how you feel about things, what you like to do and what you are looking for. Be specific and positive. Just write it down, without minding about spelling or grammar. Get excited and write fast. This helps bring out your personality, without getting stalled by the analytical part of your brain. Write in a conversational style, which has proved to work best and shows that a real person is behind the ad.

Writing about yourself does not mean that you should reveal every detail. If you can’t tell it to a stranger at the coffee shop, don’t write down in your profile.

When finished, put your draft personal ad down (or save it in your hard drive) before uploading it at your chosen dating site. Better still, let it sit overnight. Then come back with a fresh mind and correct spelling and grammatical mistakes. Also, cut any clutter. Read it over at least three times to check for flow.

There you have tips on how to write the best personal ads. All you have to do is transfer your winning ad to your dating site of choice. Some minor modifications may be needed to fit different sites, but the hard part is done.

I wish you all the best with your online dating!

:: Travel :: Jackass in Fraser Hill ::

When my colleague Yani invited us to her wedding, my friends and I were so excited. We planned the trip weeks in advance simply because Yani’s hometown is situated all the way up in Fraser Hill, Pahang. Fraser Hill is a famous tourist attraction for nature’s lovers. It is situated 1500meters higher than sea level and about 2 and a half hours drive from KL, which is pretty long time considering its distance of just 100km away. From the city, we took a route to Rawang and then to Kuala Kubu Baru. From then on the winding road to Fraser Hill can be pretty mean to those with weak stomach, now don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Eight of us, Azman and I, Rena, Azam, Nize, Fiza, Sri and her fiancé Fairus stayed at a 3rooms apartment at SilverPark Resort. We had a blast of a super good time throughout the whole 2 days trip.

on the way to fraser hill

After lunch at Fraser beautiful quaint little town, we headed straight for a stroll in the jungle trail. About 8 different jungle tracks strewn around the hill and we have chosen the Bishop Trail. 1.5km across, I can’t remember when was the last time I had relished on air so fresh while feasting my ears to the orchestra of the birds and crickets.

We climbed over huge logs, stepping across twisted tree veins, freezing brooks, wild boar tracks and mud puddles. We could have spotted some gibbons too if only Rena’s scream had not been so loud over those slimy leeches creeping up her feet. Luckily those amazing singing birds like robins, cockoos and woodpeckers was not spooked by us. And weren’t we glad to meet a friendly giant millipede Fiza called Sammy.

Sweaty and bedazzled with beautiful exotic birds and insects, we took a 5 minute drive to Jeriau Waterfall. Not having anything to wear other than the clothes on our backs, we initially just wanna check out the scenery. But once we got there, the cool waters beckoned us to jump in. There were a bunch of local school boys happily splashing around and we were all sooo tempted to join their happy dip. What started as wetting our feet turned into a frenzied splash party with lotsa laughs and fun! All of us totally let go and at that very moment we were all 8 years old again, having a marvelous great time.

fraser hill siverpark allWe really made a jackass out of ourselves; we even had a game of Who Can Walk the Slowest across the Falling Water!!? Hahaha! Even sweet demeanor Sri was loosing herself! It was really painful you know, having three story high water falling onto our heads and bodies! My brain felt like it was shaken from within the skull. But we laughed our pain away and drove back to the apartment drenched and dripping cold! Total madness!

By then all our stomachs were already growling for food but another temptation was calling in. Azman and I had earlier packed our karaoke machine with us and plugged it to the apartment’s tv. We had a round of crazy singing and dancing, check out this video of all of us screaming over Spice Girls’ Viva Forever with Fairus as the back up dancer. Hehehe!!!The food we had for dinner at a place called Chakoi’s Corner in Fraser Town tasted bad. The entire restaurant was decorated with exotic plants and animal skulls! No kidding! If it aint for the laughters and jokes and goofing around, I could have found the place gruesome.

After dinner we hang around the clock tower for awhile and went back to Silverpark for an hour of snooker! Everyone including Sri and Fiza played too not to mention Nize and Fairus was showing off their skills to woo the ladies. It was getting late so we walked back in the cool cool midst to our apartment.

Despite the heavy eyelids, we lined up all the couches facing the tv and everybody snuggled up under thick blankets to watch a DVD. Most of the time throughout Apocalypto I was sound asleep on Azman’s lap. Only when Fiza screamed on top of her lungs in terror of the gross movie, I got up again but the time was already 2.30am. We were supposed to have a round of ghost story telling but it was getting too late and we wouldn’t wanna miss Yani’s wedding the next day.

In the morning Azam and Nize sang a few more Rock Kangkang songs even before they brush their teeth and managed to weak everybody up. These two guys were very competitive, they compete on who gets up from bed the latest and who can sit next to Rena the most. Hehe!Yani looked beautiful in her wedding dress… Check out the pictures.

I wanna eat some worms

I have not sang this in a long time….
Everybody hates me
Nobody likes me
I’ll go and eat some worms..

Short thin skinny one
Long fat juicy one
See how they wriggle and squirm….
