Happy Thoughts Only

Salam everybody. I just a had a long discussion and it affected my mood. I don’t understand people who lie. I think lying is only acceptable for kids because they are that gullible and would do anything to get themselves out of trouble. And for teenagers due to the insecurities that dwell inside their adolescent hearts. But adults? In a professional environment?

Oh! Let’s not elaborate further shall we? Now let’s just focus on happy stuff. Like Ramadhan, and Raya and the two guys at home. I am thankful for my family, nothing can beat the feeling of coming home after a bad day to the people who you know are waiting anxiously for you.

Sometime ago Mama Rose told me that Miki held a Sumi jelly in his hand all day long instead of eating it just because he wanted to wait for the evening so that he could share it with both Mummy and Daddy. Do you know how big is a Sumi jelly? You can gulp it down without chewing it.

And after work when I fetched him home, the poor little boy accidently dropped the jelly in a deep drain in front of Mama Rose’s house. The very jelly that he had been holding on to all day long.

So I replaced it with a big ice-cream cone but I knew the jelly would have tasted so much better. Because then I knew how much Miki is always thinking about Mummy and Daddy when we are apart and he is always waiting for the moment when we can be reunited again.

And knowing that is the best feeling ever.

Thinking about Miki and his big grin with cookies crumbs around the mouth always cheer me up! :)

Today I will cook for iftar. Nasi tomato and ayam masak merah. And if I can find some bananas I wanna make pengat pisang! Yum! The best pengat pisang is the one my Mom makes or the one I make myself! :)

Have a nice day everyone!

Buffet Ramadhan 2011 At Holiday Villa Subang

Ramadhan this year has been very good to us. Now that I have moved to a new office that’s pretty much 10 minutes away, I have more time for myself in the history of my working life. During Ramadhan the initial 8.30am-6.00pm office hours is now 8.00am-4.15pm! If I leave tajam-tajam at 4.30pm, by 4.45pm I would be wandering and wandering at the Bazaar Ramadhan already…

At that time, very few people are shopping for food but all the stalls are ready with their tempting kuih-muih and mouth-watering nasi kerabu, sate, muratabak..you name it! But since I got to be home early, I have been cooking for iftar as well and that’s awesome too. Miki doesn’t really eat Bazaar Ramadhan food.. picky eater he is…

Talk about picky eating, we had not problem at all feeding Miki at the Buffet Ramadhan in Holliday Villa, Subang recently. In fact we really enjoyed ourselves with the super yummy food that they serve.

Siapa tak enjoy kalau they have 270 dishes to offer. Boleh? Punya lah banyak! Ada Daging Tetel Masak Lemak Ubi Kentang, Udang Kuku Kerabu Mangga, Sotong Sambal Tumis Jering, Kambing Bami, Ikan Sembilang Salai Cili Padi, Nasi Rampai Daun Pudina, Gulai Ayam Cekur, Tomato Daniya Shoba, Siput Sedut Batang Keladi, Tumis Batang Teratai Daging Picisan, Stir Fried Broccoli dengan Oyster Sauce, Butter Crab dengan Crispy Kailan.. etc etc…

In case you have have never been there, the Ramadan Buffet is held at Palm Terrace Coffeehouse. Most importantly, THE PRICE! It’s affordable here, you know!

This Ramadhan Buffet Dinner priced at RM77++ per adult and RM57++ per child only. Unlike other places they serves up to RM120 per pax, phew! Another cool thing is, if you come for the first three days of Ramadhan (oops dah terlepas!) and the last three days of Ramadhan (still got time for KL folks but aku dah balik kampung time ni!)  you will be able to enjoy 50% discount! Huuu banyak tu!

Ok let’s check out the pics.

Set up of the booth is such a way that it seems so meriah!

Kerabu-kerabi

Nampak tu.. nasi minyak, kuey teow goreng… etc

Rendang Tok and rendang ayam… My favorite!

Noodles section

Miki also enjoyed himself with freshly cooked pasta. Memang banyak Miki makan nowadays, satay, nasi himpit, beriani semua dia telan!

Ni Daddy Miki posing sambil ambik teh tarik…

Me and Miki yang baru habiskan semangkuk ice-cream…

I would like to thank Holliday Villa Subang for inviting us. Opps where is the group photo? I’ll update later lah… Thanks to my blogger friend Thristhan for inviting! For my friends who are reading this, in case you wanna get in touc with Holiday Villa, here is the number:-

Siri Bercakap Dengan Miki – Dove and Oreo Commercial 2011

Our pride and joy, the not-so-little-anymore Chimiki Chikadee is now 3 years and 6 months. He is 102cm tall and weighs 17kg already. He knows some ABCs and Alif Baa Taa, some doa’s and surahs, some drawing and writing, some Maths and English but he talks…. Oh boy doesn’t he talk… A LOT!

Yesterday we were marketing and from inside the cart, Miki reached out one chubby arm and picked up a bottle of shampoo.

“Mummy!” he shouted. “Mummy kena beli ni….” He held the bottle up so that I can look at it.

“Mummy dah ada ni kat rumah, tak payah beli..” I explained.

“Eh Mummy! Ini kan… Mummy ambik, pastu bubuh kat muka macam ni…” he put both his stout chubby hands on his round cheeks and started to demonstrate how I should wash my face. “Pastu nanti tu semua hilang!!”

“TU tu apa?”

“Tu la..tu kan semua hilang… Nanti Mummy boleh jadi CANTIK!”

I then pengsan-ed tergolek on the cold cold floor of Giant supermarket. After three minutes I gained consciousness and asked him again, “Apa yang hilang Miki? Apa?”
I just need to ask although deep inside my heart I knew he was referring to my pimples or blackhead. Or the blemishes on my skin.

Or ALL OF THE ABOVE!

ANAK BERTUAHHHHHHH!!

“Ni la…” he doesn’t know the word jerawat. “Ni, ni, ni nanti hilang la…Nanti Mummy cantik.. ni kena beli ni!” he took my face and started pointing his tiny finger on my cheek. I was not sure if he was pointing at a zit or a black head, because it is a jungle out there on my facial epidermis.

Miki was so convinced a bottle or Dove shampoo can make me all my zits disappear.

Mengertihh?

Owh but then again… that is my lil Miki. I remember a couple of months ago, he requested candy from his Daddy and he was questioned why he deserved it. He answered “Sebab Daddy kan cute!”
Wahh wahh.. kaki mengampu uols!

“Mummy cute tak?” Daddy asked again and Miki answered “Mummy tak cute…. Mummy cantik jeerrrr…”
Hehehehehe… terbaek Miki!

Talk about supermarket products, to date about 4-5 people have already told me how Miki reminded them of the boy in the Oreo commercial. You know the one that tricked his Dad so that he could take away his cookie. I don’t see it but some say he looked quite a lot like that boy in the ad, baju style, body language etc.. Ntahla…

But eh… ingatkan dah tulis blog pasal benda lain last-last ada jugak unsur makanan di bulan puasa ni ye? Hehehehe….
