It was Katak aka John Esham’s idea of a badminton match last wednesday. Kesian Katak is one very lonely man all away in the waters of Terengganu so I guessed why not but futsal would be better isnt it? I managed to arrange for a friendly match with ex-sony colleague, Sharol on Friday night at King Futsal, Bandar Baru Bangi.

To gather at least 5 people to play futsal is actually an easy task for me.. i’ve many friends in Bandar Baru Bangi that have always been waiting for my invitation. However my dilemma was.. how can i make sure i was not inviting too many people?? We’ll only be playing for an hour and i hope not to gather more 8 peoples for this friendly match…But if i only invite 8 guys.. there’re possibilities that only 5 will show up..siigghhh..

In the beginning, i only invited some of my close friends that you can find chatting in my blog shoutbox. Katak,Apeck,Tallang and Nize aka Johan agreed to join. Poeng was enthusiastic too plus he even volunteered to bring Tugie along. Thats great.!!.. i already had 7 people to join my squad…it seemed pretty easy.

But in order to be safe, i asked diyana to get her colleagues over to join my team.When 3 people confirmed playing, the total has become 10 guys!!!…gosshh…i have too many dudes already !!! i dont want to repeat my mistake last year when i invited almost 17 people to join and to my great surprise, they all came!!! for only an hour worth of a friendly match..!!! aiiyyaaaa..

On the day of the match however, a different disaster had actually happened… first, that old croaking Katak said he wont make it from trengganu..later Apeck & Tallang kept saying that Bangi is too far..blaa..blaa….too far..blaa..blaa… Although i cant actually read people minds… i was sure…they would never come. The most ^%!@#@ excuse came from Tugie…the best excuse that he could came up with is his wife asked him to buy fish at the market at that time.!!! Arghh!! Oh well…maybe friday nights are actually hanTU GIgi (Tooth Ghost) ritual day to eat fish. !!

By then, i was pretty sure i only got 6 players and i didnt have enough time to call another player. i called Tok Mut, Gambir, Azham, Tohak..etc but all of them already had other plans.This was going to be my worst futsal arrangement ever…!!!

The match started at 8pm, and i only had 3 players. Me, Nize & Azam. Poeng was late and so was diyana’s colleague, Bon & Ross. So, for the first 5 minutes, we were already going down 0-4. When Poeng, Ross & Bon arrived however,we managed to show them what we got and scored 3 goals in a row.. When the result was 4-8, Poeng replaced Nize as the goal keeper. Since that, the other team only shoot 2 goals past Poeng.. We scored more than 10 goals until we lose count…

i would like to call Poeng as the man of the match but i think the actually trophy should go to Rena.Though its obvious she did not play but since her arrival, Azam played miraculously different and even scored a couple of really nice goals.

Hopefully, we can have another futsal friendly match next time and everybody will join. I look forward to more funny excuses like Tugi’s. In the mean time I hope he’d go to class and learn to give better excuses.

This is my second futsal match since Sept 06. I felt heavy (ive put on an extra 5kg since then) and I was really tired. Thank goodness I scored 5 goals despite panting crazily for oxygen throughout the whole match….hehehe..
