On the 1st of January 2008 I received many text messages from friends wishing me a happy new year. One however had gotten me contemplating between suicide and murder. She texted :

Just as the giant waves of tsunami swept over serene beaches, icy cold waves of sorrow swept over me. Nehi! Nehi! I wished I could run to a train track and let a big choo choo hit me… Shatter me into pieces.. I rather perish! I rather die than receive an sms like this…
Okay, now that is tad over reacting but seriously, if only I could strangle that friend of mine to death, I would do that. She had absolutely failed me. She betrayed our 13 years of friendship! We have been buddies forever, but after just nine short months of my pregnancy she impaired my heart and soul by making me the point of reference for cellulite cream!
Please do not forget me friends, I am Diyana, you friend, I MAY BE THE QUEEN OF BLEMISHES BUT NEVER HAVE I BEEN A VICTIM OF CELLULITE!

Oh I remember how my beauty conscious friends used to refer to me for tips on where to get the skinniest of pants, or the skimpiest of shirt for I am the expert of squeezing my body into a dress two size smaller than a dress size zero. Then in a blink of an eye I conceived, turned into a hippo and suddenly people thought that my major proficiency had moved from super low jeans to cellulite cream…
And I received the honours on the first of January.
