Mikael goes Lepakking at Mamak

45 days of staying at home doing nothing but pantanging and constant wiping of my baby’s ass had taken a toll on me. I really needed some fresh air. The kind of cool musky air-conditioned breeze, tainted with sickening sweet fragrant of Roti Boy and the armpit of that hairy guy that just passed by. Yes, the intoxicating air that u can only inhale in shopping malls. I missed it so much when I was in my confinement period in Penang.

Well to be honest, I did went out ( taking Miki with me) even before he was 2 weeks old. My mum thought we went to see the doctor, little did she know we took a detour to Sunshine Square Bayan Baru. Thank goodness, Miki’s stroller was left at home in Kinrara else we had been cruising Queensbay Mall for a jolly good time. The night before Miki’s berendoi ceremony we went to Bukit Jambul Complex, to get decorative flowers for his cradle, then to Tesco in Sg Dua to buy candy for the doorgifts.

All the makcik-makcik was going insane with the fact I took the little newborn out for so long at night and coming back late but no one dared voice it out in front of me. Because I am Samseng Teluk Kumbaq the super stubborn lady so they complained to Samseng Baling Azman. Hehe! Hey Miki’s a good boy! He did not cry, or got disturbed and wailed at night. So why not?

After we came back to KL, I told Azman that I could feel the early stage of gila meroyan (post natal depression) flourishing in my brain and he’d better take me to where our own love had flourished to get cured. ASAP. So last weekend we went to MidValley Megamall. But this time Miki didn’t sleep the day through like he did in the malls in Penang. So it was not really enjoyable, or is it me that need some adjusting to do? I guess shopping will never be the same anymore, now that I am a MOM?!

Seriously I need some getting-used-to tuned in the biological shopping mechanism in my system. You see, now that I am a MOM, for every 3 pairs of pants that I try in the fitting room, I need to stop, STICK ONE BOOB OUT CAUSE MY BABY IS HUNGRY! And for every 2 pairs of shoes that I try to get Azman pay for, I need to stop and RUN TO THE NURSERY ROOM CAUSE MY BABY JUST POOP!

Just tell me how else can motherhood be cruel?

MidValley Megamall

Oh, he is just so manja that Miki! Just let me tell you something little baby, just because you are drop dead cute and the look in your clear eyes melts my heart everytime you plead to be cuddled in my arms till you fall asleep in the comfort of own warm cosy home; it doesn’t mean you can separate mummy and daddy from lepakking at Kedai Mamak, okay!

That’s why whether he liked it or not we dragged carried him to Al Ehsan near our place to get a taste of his first teh tarik (through the breast milk lah!). And Miki’s so cool, he didn’t cry and enjoyed himself the whole time! Psst – it was ten at night, don’t tell my mum!

  11. hahahhah..dont know u..but u got it right on the dot. But a bit of advice from me on nursing..sling helps a lot. Just that tak boleh put on baju cantek cantek la coz the sling practically covers all. On 2nd thought, bagus gak ada sling, can cover my yet to deflat (maybe will never deflat) tummy. Hahaha..nice post btw
