Open Letter for My Son - Mikael’s First Hari Raya

Dear my son Miki,
I am sure by the time you can read and understand this you have already known what Hari Raya is. In fact you have just celebrated your first raya last week! You were just 8 months and 2 weeks old but you were already clad in a tiny little Baju Melayu complete with songkok and a matching super cute kain samping.
All three of us wore orange baju rayas and yours looked like a perfect miniature of the one your daddy was wearing. It was very cute and more expensive than what I had on my entire body. Don’t worry son, I have kept the receipts, once you have started working, I will attached it to the expenses claim form and you can pay me back cash from your first salary. Oh and its okay honey, you don’t have to worry about my laundry charges, it has been absorbed your Daddy. Muah!
In the raya morning you woke up very early. You pooped on Daddy’s lap, taken your bath and had gone back to sleep like a peaceful little Pendekar Bujang Lapok. The photos here were taken at Daddy’s parent’s in Kedah. In the family photo of the three of us together, your demanding Grandma had insisted that I become a fake so I bet the next time our relatives see me on the cover of Vogue they will not recognize me for my head gear had pulled a Chipsmore sekejap ada sekejap tiada.
Anyway you had a great time there especially because all your cousins adore you and played with you all day long. You got really excited looking at your bigger cousins running around, if only you could walk on your own you would have followed them playing around the house, giggling, singing and hopping about.
You made gestures by gestures to ask us to carry you outside and follow the other kids lighting fire crackers in the dark. You love watching the exuberant fiery colors but you hugged you Daddy tight when the sound of Mercun Teloq Naga was on full blast! Cute!
You also telah disumbat dengan had a taste of kuih bahulu, ketupat and some raya cookies too. After what I have written about the Tragedy Kuih Apam, I wouldn’t wanna say anything anymore la kan….
Anyway balik kampong is very refreshing for both your Daddy and I. We get to unwind and relax and meet with our family members. They would serve us food and we would eat it. They would give you duit raya and I would keep it. For myself….
Over all we had a great raya this year! Thanks to you our little precious baby boy… You have brought Mummy and Daddy so much joy and lighted our spirits in Aidilfitri… Selamat Hari Raya, Miki!

Abang Azman, takkan kulupakan Miki yakyak atas riba di pagi raya..sib baik daddy n baby dua2 belum pakai baju raya lagi masa tu.. weheheheh!

Mien, Miki memang sejak dulu-dulu kucik-kucik lagi dah jadi poser berbakat suka memandang tepat ke kamera… sabau je lah! Songkok tu beli kat jalan TAR.

dear miki,
another surat for u to read. whenever raya comes, please bear in mind that whatever your mom and dad get from u (in a form of cash or expensive materials), me your only uncle bani deserved to get it too. why? i no need to explain it again and again to you.

cik! cute gila miki pakai full suit baju mlayu and sampin and songkok. i’ve always been a sucker for guys pakai full suit baju mlayu. fortunately, miki is still underage.. kalau tidak, bolehla you jadi my mum-in-law. hehe.
eh and why you kena pakai tudung tuh? hehe.

wah… segak sungguh miki dgn baju melayu nya… x tahan tgk kecomelannya..btw, i had an almost similar incident to ur tragedy kuih apam, only it involved air gas (horror!). mmg cannot avoid la time2 raya ni… sedara mara mmg suka menyuapkan segala mcm non sense ke mulut2 baby… pening…

Wow, he’s so charming (miki)( sorry azman, your days has ended.hee) at that young age by just smiling. I’m sure he’ll be a hell of a girls heart breaker.
Miki dear,
Even at that time your yoda mum would be reciting “x payah la,miki…x payah…” just look at her hands, the palms are spread wide open ready to clam on the moolahs! (or the ‘koleksi rantaian kasih’ utk ibu dr habib jewels..haha)
Dont forget to reimburse the receipts ya!

I’m a friend of Fydd [Farah Liza]
Just heard that her son is in critical condition. I’ve spoken with Fydd once after her delivery and she did mention that her boy had some complications. Ever since then, I just couldn’t reach her on the mobile nor did I get any reply from Zariq via the email when I sent him one, asking about Fydd & the baby.
I am genuinely worried.
If you know how I can contact/visit Fydd, please let me know.
