Bangkok and the Fish Spa

Although the tickets for the three of us were bought several months ago, the past few weeks have been spent considering whether or not to bring Miki along to Bangkok. The contemplation was based on several reason; one – Influenza A H1N1 or swine flu exposure; two- is Bangkok a suitable place for a toddler to have fun?; and three – can the parents of a toddler travelling to Bangkok with their toddler find Bangkok a suitable place to have fun when they are with a toddler in Bangkok? Oh susahnya…

It was indeed a difficult decision. Azman and I have given it deep thoughts and initially we decided to what-the-heck, let’s just drag the boy along. Even if he doesn’t come with us, we would be spending every minute talking and reminiscing about him anyway. That happened to us all the time. We always find ourselves talking about Miki, and laughing at his funny antics when we go out on dates, just the two of us.

What is the big deal one might say but we are not talking about just another toddler. Ours is a hyper, super excited kid that demands the whole world of attention gravitating around him by a simple manipulation of his vocal cord. That is a very distinctive skill acquired by young children yet it could make it impossible for the parents like us to go see a tiger show. No I mean to enjoy a trip to a bustling city. What tiger show? We are going to no zoo?! *ops

Nevertheless we have decided that okay Miki is coming with us. We will be going as a family. Hooray!

Until last Sunday. We went out to MidValley and Miki insisted to spend 20 minutes, that is 1200 seconds mind you! to watch four fat feet being feasted by disgusting little black fish in the aquarium-like display window OF A FISH SPA! Live! Squirming little fishy! Biting on stinky feet! Yuck! Disgusting! Yet the little kid refused to budge, wriggled his body free when I hold him and kept running back to the window with awe..

Fish Spa

“Wow!! Pish git kaki!!”

Like it is the most mesmerizing thing on earth. Not to mention he wants to “tekann!” the buttons in the lift, standing on the moving stroller instead of sitting, insist we take home all the stuffed cats in Lovely Lace, and count the sugar sachets one-by-one at the reataurant after he colored the table blue with crayon. We only looked away for a few seconds.

People say “The Terrible Two” to describe uncontrollable children behavior at the age two, well mine started at the age of 8 months.

After a few hours of chaos and stress. on our way back from MidValley, Azman and I dengan penuh sepakat dan rela hati dan penuh tulus ikhlas decided not to bring Miki to Bangkok. Farewell my son.. Take care.. Mummy and Daddy is going on our second honeymoon! Hooray!!

I am now checking the stuff that I can do in Bangkok apart from shopping. You guys have any idea? Perhaps we should check out the spa. I remember the time when we went to the spa in Bali for our first honeymoon; as we were pampered on the massage bed side by side, I swear the Balinese masseuse girl spent the longest time massaging my husband’s butt! Mak sentapz okay?! I just married that guy a couple of days before!! Mencii!!

So should we try the Thai’s massage? I am scared now.

  4. we all had some arguments jugak nak bawak haiQal ke tak to Phuket last month but ended up bawak jugak sbb kalau nak tgk H1N1 punye case, Malaysia is worse. so mana2 pun sama je. So we all tawakkal and am so glad we brought him along coz we had so much fun and it would be so meaningless without haiQal around. and yg paling penting, everyone came home healthy Alhamdulillah 🙂

  10. hahaha…lawk ar hang dee….aku tak tahan paragraph last tu!!! btw, Happy Honeymoon!!!

  11. Bangkok, nice place to go shopping la…the night market and the shopping complexes are way more cantik from us here in Malaysia 🙁

Don’t forget to try their pulut durian and pulut mangga…sedap sangat!

Bila dah penat tu, then bolehlah berThai Massage (you can choose with oil full body–>bukak baju or without oil full body–>tak bukak baju) and suffer for a few minutes…then you will feel your body ringan next day 🙂

  12. Oh please please update your trip there later. We are going after Raya, with our NOTTIER sons! Tak tau lah can enjoy or not, but I’m looking forward for it already!

  15. hehhe…we never go anywhere when ashley was younger. can pengsan with the little monster creating havoc. it’s a wise decision to go without miki. it’s crowded in bangkok. you all have a good trip 😀

  16. nidda, terima kaseeyyy….!!! hehe
    .
    .
shani, thanks for suggestions deffinately gonna try the pulut-pulut.. hehe

    .
mom3que, insyaAllah will blog about it. ini pun nak bawak our small Viao along to get connected easily. small kid tak bawak.. haha. by the way did u get my last email?
    .
    .
mommy to chumsy, now that ashley is bigger there are more places to go. should try Disneyland what say you? hehehe. yeah we didnt wanna take him because it is a crowded place.. 🙂

  17. chatuchak is best tapi agak ramai org n pening kepala sbb dia menjuai babi, ular, home decor n touristy souvenir all in one big place. penat jalan tapi best sebab exercise. tapi kalau nak murah but have a nicer cosier n not to mention cleaner shopping environment u should go to tsuo lom nai night bazaar. barang murah mcm chatuchak tapi tempat cantik.

also go to the floating market,, every saturday ja kot.

but jgn shopping kat Pat Pong.. meskipun aku tau hang akan pi untuk tgk tiger show. dia mcm petaling street. tgh tgh smua street peddlers with their wares kat kiri kanan are rows of shophouses with the shows. aku suggest toksahlar pi tiger show (maksiat astaghfirullahalazim).. its a bit too freaky (i actually saw a girl pul out a string of razor blades from her pussy and shoot a banana from the same pussy after that..) baik hang pi the sex show.. its like watching porn but live on stage.. hahah tapi aku tak pi yang tuh. but anyways i digress.. patpong is also known for its shopping not just the shows. but things are super expensive ther and the peddlers are penyangak besaq.. mcm our goold old petaling street gaks.

enjoy.. btw belalang goreng has a weird smell to it

  18. Bangkok was my second honeymoon and lemme tell you that all those spa and reflexolgy actually ‘did something’ coz my baby was conceived in Bangkok. Hahahahahahahaha ye lah darah semua dah berjalan dengan lancar lepas dikrak-krukkan wanita muda Thai.

Andddddddddd it’s so murah. 60 mins only RM10 per person (kalo u convert back to RM lah). 90 mins body + back massage RM25 per person. Geram sampai nak buat massage every hour.

It’s so worth it. Enjoy urself in Bangkok ok. But don’t make a mistake we made. We naik the sampan to go around the whole river kan. Tak yah lah bazir duit. Dah lah RM150 for the both of us. Ended up seeing rumah-rumah panjang tepi sg je and the back side of tokongs. Derang tak benti pon nak kasik kita masuk and amik pics or anything. The only stop they made was to the snake farm which is also such a waste.

Baik naik tut-tut. U dpt a good guy, byr RM10, he’s willing to take you all over. Nak shopping, mintak derang bawak ke the local shopping malls. Takyah yg besar-besar. Semua mahal.

  19. repulsiverina,
for you info, your comment went straight to the spam box and I recovered it. “maksiat astaghfirullahalazim” and ” baik hang pi sex show” adalah sangat contradictive. aku gelak guling2.. hanya tuhan membalas… tapi terima kasih atas suggestion hang.. eheheheheheh
ps- ok cancel aku makan cengkerik goreng saja..
    .
    .
ary, heheheh… thanks for your comment babe! takut aku skrg takpasal2 Miki dapat adek nanti… oh noooo…

  20. ya Allah! miki is soooo cute! duduk mencangkung tengok kaki2 gemuk di gigit ikan!

    hehehhe..
