Juadah Berbuka Puasa – Iftar with Baby

It is the 10th of Ramadan and it is also the 31st of August; Malaysia’s National Day! The last 2 Ramadan prior to this I was able to fast for full 30days; which was really awesome. In 2007 I was preggie with Miki and 2008 I was fully breastfeeding thus no RED FLAG HOLIDAY filled with hormonal turmoil and pimply spoil!

This year it has been good so far, I got up every night and prepare warm food for Azman and I except two nights ago when Azman was too euphoric with Manchester United winning over Arsenal (can you believe that game?); that he did full 15 minutes of hula dance (with Nize) till he was dead tired and turned off the alarm and went back to sleep. Surprisingly it was a difficult day after. Promised myself not to skip sahur again, mainly for the whole jug of full cream milk I gulp down till the last minute.

The iftar (berbuka puasa) that we had today was the best one Azman and I have had in the entire 10 days. Miki was asleep.

We don’t usually let him sleep through Maghrib but yesterday was one of the days when Miki would do anything not to take a nap even though the sleepiness was attacking him like 6 o’clock thirst pang on a sunny fasting month. That is if you hadn’t broken your fast for the last 3 days! He was cranky, he bawled at cd player for having 2 seconds breaks in between playing Humpty Dumpty repeatedly since forever; he bawled when we put him in his carseat and wanted to sit in front with me; he bawled because Azman did not smile but as we drove pass the park, he wanted stop and was lively again once he set foot on the grass, boleh?

So after we went back we just had to put him in the buai and finally he slept from 6 to 9pm. I believe during that 3 hours all the wars and crimes in the world stopped just as the chaos in our household stopped.

Azman and I ate S.L.O.W.L.Y!!! I chewed my food many-many times before I swallowed them. Nasi putih never tasted so good! There were nobody busy throwing cutlery like it’s some kinda boomerang. No one demanding that nursery rhymes must be sang while eating and most importantly no cleaning after somebody likes to chew on his food before disposing it on the floor! Stress ok??

The above video has been edited. It has been  butchered here and there a little bit, else instead of hearing me say “Makan!” like the nasty stepmother yelling at Cinderella, you could here me scream “MAKAAAANNNNN!!” berdentum bak halilintar, uols! I also cut the last part where you could see my hair flying all over after I yanked them off my head in amuk… “That is NOT jatuh, Miki, ITU KAU YANG LEMPAR SENDIRI!!!!!”

Don’t you guys go on thinking I rubbed my arm with bontot kuali pulak in this video. Aku memang color macam tu lah! Sentapz!

Anyway, here are among the food that we had last night. I was so free I could take pictures!! Fuyooo… All food dimasak secara tunjuk-tunjuk at Pasar Ramadan, Sec 14, PJ.

sate dan murtabak

Murtabak and sate, I wanted the murtabak, Miki wanted the sate, his favourite food. If there was 10 sate stalls in the pasar, we will hear him scream “NAK SATE!!!!” ten times until we buy some and that kid will carry the package himself.

sup daging

Beef soup

sotong bakar roasted cuttlefish

Delicious grilled cuttlefish

roasted lamb

Roasted lamb with onions and paprika

Banyak kan? Biasalah.. 10 puasa nafsu harimau, 29 puasa besok nafsu Dinosour…
