Sunny Saturday – Roast Beef Cutlets

I went to Giant with Miki last night and to my surprised they had really nice fresh groceries selling at cheaper price. Usually they only have these rotting vegetables yang mahal nak mampus tapi aku beli jugak because Giant is like everywhere in the neighborhood. Too near to home, too convenient..

I bought marinated topsides, fruits, a whole lot of greens and even some kangkung and carrots for our bunnies. I cut the topside into cutlets for believing they would cook faster. The problem is I lack butchering skills so my cutlets looked worse than Frankenstein after Botox.

But they are delicious. I cannot take the credit for marinate coz that they were done at the supermarket so it gotta be my skills in handling the grill. Hehe…nak jugakkk…

Roast Beef

I served them with vegetable stew (in the pic looks like stir fried because I strained the gravy a little bit). This is good as well, here is the recipe:

Leek, cut into 2cm long then halves
Broccoli, cut into bite size
Enoki mushroom, remove roots

Clean all vegetables and then drain them

Mince garlic and ginger, sautee in vegetable oil, add one cup beef broth, add generous amount of paprika powder, add three table spoon of Heinz Honey BBQ sauce and a pinch of salt. Bring it to a boil then add leek and broccoli, lastly mix the enoki and cook till done. If preferred can add a tiny bit of flour to thicken gravy.

I usually cook my vegetables  slightly soft than I personally like it because I am training Miki to eat what ever the family eats. He loves vegetables as long as they are not too hard to chew. In this recipe, Miki walloped a whole lot of broccoli but called the enoki – ULAT WORM! *pengsan*

Anyway do try this recipe, if you are a fan of leek like me, you’d know that leek is best paired with meat and over here, the tangy leek combined with crunchy broccoli and chewy mushrooms make a very good combination.

After dinner, Miki played with his sticker book and since he was not allowed to stick them on the wall, the furniture, windows and door and all the things that he can see and touch so he tempek-tempek the stickers on hid Dad.  Azman just got home from work, full with roast beef and sprawling on the couch watching TV, willingly let his beloved kiddo berbuat apa saja. After Azman face resembled a Mickey and Minnie decorated Mummy, Miki stuck them on his own face. Suka hati ko la nak…

Above is my rosemary plant that is so fragrant and bushy. When I bought it, there were only like 5 stalks now look how glorious it is. I am trying to reproduce it and this time I wanna try plant them on the ground.

Have a nice weekend everyone!
