My son’s first Art Class – ART SAFARI, Bandar Kinrara

Last weekend before I went to Sarawak, Miki reached another milestone that we really need to jot down for the sake of sweet memories. Guess what?! Miki went to his first art class! *thrilled*

Initially we just went to the ART SAFARI, located on top floor at Giant Kinrara Mall to inquire about the classes. I saw in the pamphlet that minimum age for the kids is 4 years but Miki is just 3, how lah?? Their explanation was very logical – it doesn’t matter how old is the child as long as he/she has basic coloring skills aka HOLDING TO A PENCIL! I thought Miki has no problem with that but another issue that worries me was the fact that Miki has never been to any formal class before, no TASKA, no kindergarten, no playschool what so ever…

So I wondered if Miki would want me to sit next to him in the class, and would the teacher gets problems communicating with him. Would he cry? Would he accept the idea that Mummy and Daddy will be leaving him at ART SAFARI all alone with the teacher? Oh my God, that idea even scares me!

So the sweet Chinese-lady teacher told us to send him for a trial class and see if he can color a little bit. Which we did.

And you know what, once Miki entered the students are, he didn’t even turn back towards his Daddy and me! The teacher ( forgot to ask her name *slap forehead*) put on an apron on him, he looked shy but excited and his excited parents sneakingly took these snapshots.

I was afraid he would cry but instead the lil chikadee flew high…

The girl in red was another teacher, we curi-curi took this pic as Miki washed his hands after the class. We couldn’t hear him but we saw his mouth potpetpotpet.

And there he is, my lil sunshine after his first art class with his first painting ever! He said the teacher asked him to make an apple picture and to Mummy, this is the most gorgeous painting ever!

Miki you are such a good boy, Mummy loves you!

Next time Miki must practice to color within the lines okay?

He used crayons and water color here. I’d say Miki learned a lot through this class, apart from drawing a picture, coloring it in different shades using crayons and brushes. He also learned to follow instructions, communicate with people he was not familiar with and just be in strange places and environment he has never been to before. Miki dah besar….

BTW Although I suspect the little yellow circles are peashooters from Plants vs Zombies but here they make lovely patterns for the apple picture! Haha!

Good job Miki, now that you have passed the trial class, lets sign up to weekly classes! Yay!
