Mother’s Day This Year – Let’s Save Lives

I’d catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I’d jump in front of a train for ya
You know I’d do anything for ya

I would go through all this pain
Take a bullet straight through my brain
Yes, I would die for you, baby… (Grenade, Bruno Mars)

To all the young people out there who are reading this, especially young teenage girls that I read on papers seem to prefer living in smelly flat houses with their drug addict boyfriends rather than home with their families;

Your lovers will not catch a grenade for you! Bruno mars will not jump in front a train for you!  That sweet talking Indonesian guy from Lombok will not die for you!
YOUR MOTHER WILL!!  At least I know I would for Miki…

If fact many mothers are dying… not by exploding bombs and penetrating bullets but due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth.  Living in prosperous Malaysia may make us oblivious to this but every year, in all over the world, 350,000 moms die because of that. That’s one woman every 90 seconds.  Tell me can it be more distressing than this? When we all know that these deaths can be prevented?

My heart was really broken when I read about these poor women from HERE

As my blog readers probably have known, I am now 7 months pregnant and so far thank God I am in the pink of health and praying that this blessing will continue until I safely deliver this second baby of mine. I am seeing a very good OB/GYN and surrounded by probably ten hospitals and medical centers within ten kilometer radius of my home. But there are women out there in the other parts of the world probably have never met a doctor. Yes, it is sad. Watch this…

We all know Mother’s Day is coming really soon. Usually Azman will take me to nice dinner with our son Miki to celebrate. This year, I am going to request for something different. I will cook a nice dinner for us but the money he usually spend for that fancy grilled steak or extra-fresh sashimi will still be spent – TO THE OTHER MOTHERS THAT NEED IT MORE THAN ME!

As Mummy-to-Miki is overly fed and overly nourished, I want Azman to buy a nutrition kit from here to other Moms who are hungry.Insya Allah, He will bless the hands that give.

I know a lot of fellow Moms and Dads read my blog. So come on everyone, this year let’s make a difference and donate to that deserving person who would jump in front of train for her child – A MOTHER!

Honour thy mother. Happy Mother’s Day in advance.
