USA Vacation Day 1 – Tokyo the Amazing Metropolis

Family selfie inside NEX train

Before the trip, although I was really excited,  I was also anxious about flying for long hours with Rafa. He is just 1 year and 10 months old. Miki for sure won’t cause a problem, he is a cool kid like that but Rafa?I bet he will get bored of sitting after 5 minutes and will start terrorizing the entire flight.

So I come out with this plan ( a genius plan) whereby we should have extended transit time between catching our connecting flight to US. Since we were flying with JAL, the stopover is in Narita, Japan. Usually transits should take 2-3 hours but we got our connecting flight after 1o hours! To me, this is a blessing! Rafa can get off the plane after 7 hours and spend enough time on the ground to gain back his baby sanity and while I…

Well I GET TO GO TO JAPAN!!! Yay!! Can you imagine, planning for a vacation in America and all of a sudden we get to go to Japan too? Ohsomeee! I felt like I was given a surprise big fat chocolate cake as a sideline of my big fat steak dinner… Pengsan! Haha!

Below pic is us at KLIA in the aerotrain. I post it here sebab muka Miki kelakar! hehe

Rafa in the flight from KL to Japan. He was Ok but needed new entertainment and activities every few minutes. Haishh.. Finally we arrived in Narita at 7am local time. The kids were fresh because they slept in the flight. Me I  was hungry..

Miki at Narita Airport

Bought some food and snacks from this store at the airport and then we attack the city. Azman has been to Japan many times but his last visit was a long time ago and as expected the Japanese train system was complicated. To go to Tokyo we had to take the Narita Express or NEX.

It took about an hour to go to Tokyo which was pretty much a waste of time but we enjoyed it because the train was comfortable. And then hooray we had set our foot in the capital city of Japan. The city was huge and so awesome! Their English was soo bad. The people were nicely dressed, 90% of all that we saw was in office attire, maybe because it was a working day.

These are some pictures of us sightseeing in Tokyo.

day1-14

We stopped at a park in the city. It was beautiful and the kids enjoyed it very much. Miki and Rafa ran all over place, “Dandelions Mummy!” Miki said, “Macam kat rumah Cik Nas!” Hehe! Iyolah… Haruslah kat Germany ada, kat Malaysia mana ada dandelions, Miki… Last year kat rumah Cik Nas, Rafa tak pandai blow dandelions lah, sekarang dah pandai, dah besar. Just look him running around…

It would be God sent if we got to catch the cherry blossom in bloom but we missed it by about two weeks. However we still saw some beautiful flowers at the park. Taktau nama apa… cantik sangat…

Ni bukan bunga, ni daun.. tapi cantik jugak.hehe!

Ueno Park Japan

There were many places that we wanted to visit like the Shinjuku for example but it took a lot of rushing and I decided against it.  Let’s just relax and enjoy the moment. It was very nice. Tokyo was very nice. After sightseeing and walk around the park, we took another train to go to Tokyo Tower. But from the station we took a cab instead of walking.

Azman buying train tickets. Tengok route kat atas tu. Kalau aku sorang mampos sesat sebab tak paham. I am typical bimbo. I no read map. I ask for directions but Japs no understand English. Haishh LOL

Below is Miki berangan sesorang dia jadi Spiderman ke apa tah wallahualam… Hahaha! Miki is brave, confident and smart. He speaks confidently to orang Jepun ke Mat Salleh ke African ke dengan penuh keyakinan. Mat Salleh boleh paham dia lah, tapi Jepun pasti tidak. Haha!

Tokyo Tower was red and beautiful. Rafa lari-lari masuk gift shop and hugged a toy shark. Tak pasal-pasal pergi Tokyo Tower beli shark.. Tah apa2.. Tak apalah asalkan bahagia. Shark is Rafa’s favourite animal.

So that’s how we spent about 5-6 hours in Tokyo. In the first day of our vacation. Short but meaningful and quite unforgettable. We took NEX again to the airport, had a delicious tempura meal (lost track of time, not sure it was lunch or supper haha) and off we go again on a jet plane, this time to the USA.
