Mr. Rafa and Mr. Crocodile

Rafa and Miki sometimes can be so similar just like blood brothers should be but there are many times when both of them are so different…

Miki since he was very small, he has this thing about cute soft toy animals like rabbits, turtles and especially cats. In fact for a couple of years he goes to sleep with his Lovely Lace fluffy stuffed cat he called Bobo.

So when Rafa was 8 or 9 months old, Azman and I was really happy and excited to go through that cute phase again, when our son was a baby and adorably attached to his toy cat.  So we bought a new Lovely Cat for Rafa but to our surprise he played with it for like…. 30 seconds! Seriously! Even my concentration on Physics and Calculus was 1 minute, Rafa! Come on….

We thought owh maybe Rafa was still a baby and he doesn’t know what that thing is, so after a couple of months we bought him another cutey soft toy and again, he loves it just the way I love my Ustaz at my Matriculation College (oops)… Sukaaa sangatt… Dia amik, dia campak, dia amik dia campakkkk…

After many more tries, we concluded that Rafa hates soft toy animals, kucing ke, teddy bear ke, rabbit ke… semua Rafa tak sukaa…. So selamat duit tak payah beli mainan animals.

But we were wrong! One day, Rafa was 1 year and 10 months, we were travelling for a vacation in USA. We stopped for a long layover in Tokyo, Japan. As we had plenty of time, we went to several places including Tokyo Tower. Kisahnya kat bawah Tokyo Tower tu ada aquarium. Rafa who was stroller-bound for a long time, escaped his stroller and ran to the gift shop…

He then saw a realistic looking rubber toy shark , hugged it, kissed it and Daddy had to buy it. The ugly, the ferocious, the gigi tajam-tajam great white shark! What is wrong with you Rafa? Why you no like kitty cats why you like sharkies?

Because the “animal” is waterproof it became his bath toys. Rafa loves his shark so much he still plays with it today! After the shark, Rafa picked up toy animals at the store for himself and if Miki would have picked up the cutest cat, Rafa always picks up the scariest looking REPTILE!!! *pitam

Contohnya kalau ada teddy bear, giraffe, cat and snake.. Confirm Rafa ambik ular tu punya… from then on, mainan animal yang Rafa dah beli ialah ular plastik, shark dah ada dua ekor, dinosaur t-rex dan yang paling kelakor ialah buaya! Boleh Rafa berangan apa tah.. he puts the crocodile ( he calls him Dile) on his lap.. pastu Rafa cakap, “Sai.. Sai… Dah! Dah! Dah! Sai…”” sambil membelai-belai binatang buas tu.

Hahaha budak pelat! Itu maksudnya, “Sayang, sayang.. Dah! Dah! (Jangan nangis!), Sayang dia…” Kahkahkah! Buaya ko merajuk kenapa Rafa, tak dapat main iPad ke?

Suffice it to say that the more sharp teeth the animals have, the more Rafa love them! In fact he just spent half an hour standing up and occasionally running to the kitchen, away from the TV when he gets too nervous, while watching a giant crocodile show on Animal Planet. Half an hour Ok?! That’s what I call passion!

I guess my two boys although came into this world from the same womb and the same birth canal, are different in their interest and likes .

Rafa ni, kira lagi menyeringai gigi tu lagi comel la di mata dia… haishh… jangan girlfriend esok pun cari yang jongos sudaah ye Rafa! haha…
