SeaWorld San Diego, Destination of Choice for Marine Life Lovers – USA Vacation Day 8

The day after we went to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California we moved on the our next destination. It was our 8th day in the entire vacation and we were going to San Diego. Yay!

The drive from Anaheim to San Diego was very nice as the view was very scenic and beautiful. We saw sandy beaches and we wanted to stop by but we didn’t have much time.

Azman had been to San Diego several times due to work so he was quite familiar with the place. There were way too many attractions here but the number 1 place that we wanted to go to was the SeaWorld, which is a theme park with everything marine life.

We would not forget the memories here, of Miki being so happy and Rafa too enjoyed himself tremendously, it was like he had gone crazy! haha!

Unlike Disneyland, the car park at SeaWorld was open air. Check out the load in the trunk of our Toyota Rav4. Penuh! haha!

Sharks and all sorts of fishes were Rafa favorite animals. The entire time at SeaWorld, Rafa didn’t take a nap at all! He was running and screaming with joy… My little boy, not yet 2 years old, but already really enjoying himself…

See Miki and Rafa won’t even glance at the camera. They were checking out bamboo sharks in the pool. Then we went to on the kiddy rides. After the three of us went on the ride in below picture, Miki went again all by himself. This was the first ever ride that Miki rode alone in his life.

seaworld san diegoSee how happy and hitam Rafa was.. haha! Actually we have way too many lovely photos to share from SeaWorld… Can only upload some in the blog… Anyway, we also saw a parade and I rode on a big roller coaster called Manta…

When we were at the dolphins section, Rafa was so happy and excited sampai terjerit-jerit terkinja-kinja… This is our first time seeing a dolphin this close and even touching one too…

We saw the dolphins show and it was excellent. I must praise these orang putihs for being very creative and innovative… Then it was time for lunch. I enjoyed the food here very much compared to Disneyland… The had a variety of food and they were delicious.

Me queuing for food! We had delicious fish and chips, and dined under the trees outside. Several birds and ducks came asking for food like cats do in Malaysia. Haha!

The place we  had lunch is next to the turtle section. Think FINDING NEMO , where turtles big and many swimming in sync? We saw something like that here. Rafa was so excited. The SeaWorld actually acts like a sanctuary for marine lives and they rescue great many animals including turtles, seals, dolphins from natural harm and even human.

Despite the shining sun, it was windy and cool. Nice weather. Sunblock much needed. hehe

The highlight of SeaWorld was of course Shamu lah! If you had seen Free Willy, you know what Shamu is, the great Killer Whale! That was one show among all the shows in  SeaWorld that we just couldn’t miss! But before that, let’s eat some ice-cream first hehe

We also went up the SkyTower to have a look at the magnificent view of the entire SeaWorld.

seaworld san diegoEh Miki tidor lak… You kids are lucky to be here experiencing all these Miki and Rafa. Kat Malaysia tak de dolphin , killer whale bagai OK… next we went to see the Sea Lion show.

I have to write it here. I am impressed. Come on you guys have been to Zoo Negara, Kuala Lumpur, right? I have been there since I was a kid and since I got kids, I went there again many times. All these visits are nothing but the same old same old. Seal jumping through a loop, seal fetch ball… over and over again…

I was like, come on Zoo Negara management, how do expect people to come again to you Zoo if there are nothing new over all these years? Get a panda? After that what?

This Sea Lion show we saw in San Diego SeaWorld was nothing but pure creativity, passion and efforts of the trainers. They made the seals perform according to different themes. Not merely fetching balls OK? And among the themes were CSI and guess what? GANGNAM STYLE!

This was in May 2014. Gangnam Style was fairly new, that showed how much the performing team/ trainer keep abreast with latest trends to make their show amazingly captivating!

I hope someday, the Zoo Negara team will go visit these sort of attractions and learn from them… because i love my Malaysia.

After the show, we roamed SeaWorld  again. See me below with my beloved Xperia Z Ultra that I then lost also in San Diego… *sad So engrossed I was with my phone that Rafa was already dipping his chubby arm in the pond. Check out https://www.merrittsupply.com/fairing-fillers/ to get all the necessary supplies for such trips in advance!

Muncung-muncung mulut aku telling Rafa to just touch the star fish and not taking it out of the water. But… ada Rafa kisah?? My brave little baby, adventurous and fearless!

Then came the highlight of SeaWorld…. SHAMU – THE ONE OCEAN SHOW!

Mummy won’t forget Rafa, how excited and happy you were to see this massive creature. As they swam towards you by the tank, you squeal and you scream in delight.. Seeing my child so happy like that, and so instantly my body felt no weary and and all the money spent worth it! Worth every penny! hehehe

How amazing is that? Yup, we traveled thousands and thousands of miles, because Rafa and Miki wanted to see this!

Salute the trainers for being able to train these giant ocean beasts! Amazing!

The kids loved it so much in here that Miki wanted to come again the next day. He never requested for such in Disneyland or Universal Studios.. But of  course we can’t because we had other places to go to and tickets aren’t cheap. But the happiness they felt that day I still remember so Insya Allah, if ada rezeki we will go again…

Next, I will write about the other great stuff we did at San Diego. Stay tuned!
