Brotherly Love – Things That Make Me Go Awwww

If you guys come to our house, you will see how Miki and Rafa plays together. The Tiny one is very much influenced by his big brother. If Miki is reading, he will read too and if Miki is coloring, he will color too..They play quite well, with Legos and other toys, read books and ride on Rafa’s small toy motorbike, living room – kitchen, kitchen – living room… Then they gelek my kaki, or when I am facing the kitchen sink doing the dishes, Rafa will ram his bike into my legs and  butt…

handsome brothers

They watched TV together too.. And make a mess out of the house together.

Out of the many games they play, this game is what they like best – Miki calls it “BERLAWAN”.

This video was taken at the mall, that’s why their “fight”was pretty cute and less rowdy. Kalau kat rumah, Rafa can even beats up Miki with his toy golf club! I cringed with the violence and tried to stop it, but who am I kidding for as long as I let them watch Kung Fu Panda? Ahh lantaklah korang… Boys will be boys kan?

But Miki is very bagus coz just like in the video, he just pretends to fight with Rafa… Kalau dia tumbuk bebetul, pelanting jugak la budak tu. hehe..

Dalam duk bergaduh-gaduh manja tu, Rafa cried buckets when we took him on Tuesday to send Miki off to school. He saw Miki walked through the front gate and he got freaked out. He was wailing his lungs out for Miki, as he lost his brother slowly in the crowd. He didn’t say it, but we knew Rafa was worried sick of Miki. He  didn’t understand why we let Miki go… It was such a strange place with hundreds of people and why we didn’t stick together in our loving pack like we always do? Rafa continued to cry in the car when he changed his mind.. “Ikut Miki..” he said.. now dia nak ikut pulak.

This morning, 4th day of school, Rafa woke up after Miki was gone and as we were leaving for work and he to the babysitter, again Rafa was asking around, looking around for his big brother.

This is both heart warming and heart breaking at the same time. It always takes some time for Rafa to adjust to new routines of being separated with Miki. Last month after we fixed Miki’s new bed in his room, he started to sleep alone there like all kids his age do. On the first night Rafa got a shock of his life seeing the space on the floor where Miki’s mattress used to be now empty. From then on for the next few nights,we had Rafa banging on Miki’s door, asking him to come back to our room.

One time Rafa  got up in the middle of the night, found Miki gone, grab a torch light and start searching around in the dark like a private detective. It was the cutest thing.  Clad in his sleepsuit, he opened the door and got out side…But instead of searching in Miki’s room, he tiptoed in the dark with the flash light in his tiny hand towards the staircase, finger on his lips.. “Shhhh….”he said.. “Miki…. Where you youuu?,where you youuu.. Miki?”

That was super comel Rafa! You really care about Abang, don’t you?

Miki pulak memang adore Rafa since he was born! On the second day of school, he went to purchase food from the canteen for the first time, and guess what he bought? Two packets of chicken nuggets, one for himself, and for Rafa! I was so smitten! That is so thoughtful of you Miki! I am very proud of you… You could spend all your allowance on snacks and even ice-cream but you bought something for your brother back home. Aww

This Saturday the 17th is Miki’s 7th birthday. We asked him what activity does he wanna do on his big day. We offered a trip to Sunway Lagoon, Aquaria, Genting… or he can have a day out at the games arcade with tokens worth RM100. He can play until pengsan…

cute brothers

But Miki kept saying we should go to the Petting Zoo, because Rafa loves it so much there. And he started talking about how Rafa goes crazy looking at the animals, how much Rafa loves the tortoises, Rafa this… Rafa that!

We already went there on your birthday last year Miki! Buat apa nak pergi lagi? But to Miki, what his brother likes is more important.

Azman and I must have been doing something right to deserve this. May this brotherly love between my two boys last forever. Thanks for making Mummy proud kids. I love you very much!
