At breakfast yesterday morning, Miki, Azman and I chit-chatted about his school. Alhamdulillah Miki loves going to school so far, in fact he kept asking why are all the stuff he is doing in class right now are too easy. I told him, dude you are in the orientation weeks still, you haven’t start learning the actual things!

For sekolah kebangsaan these days apparently they have 2 weeks of something like introduction to primary school whereby they do light activities first. One of the activities that they have to do the most during this period is coloring. Miki hates coloring. Weird, I thought all kids love to do that but he doesn’t.

Anyway, over his milk and sandwich I said, “Miki, bila menulis tu, tulis la elok-elok, cantik-cantik. Sayang sebab Mummy tahu Miki boleh tulis dengan cantik, tapi kenapa kat school Miki tulis tak cantik?”

“Pensil Miki tajam, lagipun Miki boring nak tulis…”

What? *tarik nafas sebelum memulakan syarahan.

“Miki, you must not tell yourself that writing is boring. All kids your age have to go to school and write! It is like your job. Like what I do in the office, that’s my job. If you don’t like to write, you know what? Why don’t we switch jobs? You go to my office and do my work and I go to darjah 1 ok? Can you do my job?

“OK, maybe you can switch jobs with something easier. Bangla Potong Rumput, how about that? You want to potong rumput? Pagi-pagi ketuk pagar orang… Assalamualaikummmm” I put on my Bangla slang.
