Our friend Bani is a pain in the ass. One fine day in late May 2007 he launched a mouth watering story of his dining experience in a sea side restaurant in Bagan Lalang, Sepang, Selangor ( Map to Bagan Lalang ). Bani, all knowingly that the Big Fat Ferocious Eating Monster will drool and dream of seafood that night, had purposely described the varieties of fish, crabs, clams and prawns that were available there at very cheap price.
Bagan Lalang is a place unknown to us. So I persuade Bani to take us there. He said okay, let us all go at the end of the following month!! So late! A food-crazed expecting mother cant wait that long! But Bani gave 1001 reason why we had to wait until end of June. Actually it was only one reason “I am Bani! And I am mean!” only he repeated it 1001 times.
Couple of days before we were set to go Bani changed his mind. He said Bagan Lalang is too far away, and suggested that we purchase fresh sea food from the market and bbq them ourselves. Bani the super genius said that it would be great if all of us friends could get together and have yet another bbq karaoke party at guess where!? MY HOUSE!!!!!!
Did I just wait ONE whole long month that felt like ONE whole long year for a makan-makan trip and at the end of the wait we will end up eating at MY HOUSE! This is insane, this is pure madness. So who is gonna do the dishes, Mr Smarty Pants Bani?? Who is gonna start the fire? Who is gonna scrub the floor who is gonna set the table? The retired drama queen is now a ferocious eating monster, Bani! She aint got not time to cook anymore, all she can do is eat eat eat!
Aggghhh tensionnya aku dengan mamat Bani ini!!! After much sulking and membebeling, finally we got to go to Bagan Lalang anyway. Eleven of us, Azman and I, Bani and his two friends, Bauk, Nize aka Johan aka Pengapit, Rena, Farah, and last but not least Nana and her boyfriend Wan.
Bagan Lalang is indeed very far. Its situated almost at the Sepang Gold Coast. We had two garoupas, a crab for each of us, one and a half kilos of prawns, a kilo a squid, another kilo of lala, almost two kilos of clams, and one and a half kilo of the specialty seafood of Bagan Lalang, the pepahat. Two pitchers of cold drinks, large water spinach (kangkung) for ten, and of course rice. And it cost only RM484.00. The food was good too except the fried cuttlefish which was served to us not very hot. So I consider that price is very cheap and wouldn’t mind going there again when I have the strength for the 2 hour drive from Puchong to Sepang.
Thanks friends for the good time! ? and Bani for the drama! Will host bbq/karaoke parties at our place again definitely, in one of these days when I feel better.

memang sgt best. but should i remind u that kalau nak gi to be safe, tempahla meja, baru senang sikit bila dah book, sebab situ mmg slalu ramai pengunjung huhuhu….
it’s an advice from BANI, yes, an advice yg obviously dia sendiri tak buat…. luckily when we arrived, ade meja tuk kitorang orelse, alamat bani kena pepak dgn the gorgious freocious eating monster tu hehe

pembetulan:
1) it’s a 50 minutes drive from puchong to bagan lalang (90km/h from puchong to putrajaya-klia toll/110km/h from klia toll to sepang/90-100km/h from sepang to bagan lalang, insyallah it will be 50 mins drive
2) pepahat-1 kg (masak cili)
nasi (11) pax
3) ketam-3 kg (masak cili)
3) lokan (sedara lala)-2.5 kg (masak serai)
4) ikan jenahak 2 ekoq-3.1 kg (bakar)
5) kerang-600 g (bakar)
6) sotong-1.2 kg (goreng tepung)
7) kangkung (10) pax
9) sirap 3 jugs
all for RM484.00 nett- consider memang murah giler. once upon a time dolu dolu dalam tahun 2002, 7 of us (in might) pegi makan kat Muara, Klang pun kira suku dari menu di atas dalam kuantiti sorang dapat dua tiga cubit pun dah kene RM600++++. but the best bargain for seafood still in anjung batu, melaka and yg paling sedap pulak kat kuala perlis.

m planning to bagan lalang to buka puasa this weekend and google pepahat at bagan lalang n end up here for more than half hour reading ur funny stories..love it.r u seriously melodrama queen for real?
