The Drizzling Weekend

It has been quite a busy weekend. On Saturday we went for breakfast at our favourite Mamak’s and had lunch at Taman Warisan Pertanian, Putrajaya. We went there all the way because we were meeting a customer who was buying Manchester United rompers and jackets from us.

Miki was all excited about the Hot Air Balloon Carnival that was happening over the weekend but 2pm was not the time. So kesian Miki was pointing and talking non-stop about the carnival buntings they hang on the lamp post all over Putrajaya but knowing it was going to rain (wahh.. macam bomoh ujan pulak) in the afternoon, we decided to spend the time elsewhere.

After lunch we drove to Sungai Buloh with a mission! TO BUY ATAP DAUN NIPAH FOR OUR RABBITS’ ENCLOSURE!
Right now the enclosure is covered by blue plastic/canvas thingy to shelter our furry buddies from the rain and sun but blue is tak cantik laaaa….. The place is surrounded by so many plants and bright yellow/orange flowers… tetiba ada atap plastic pulakkk…. Sangat TAK GREEN OK!!! Bak kata Bik Mama, kita kalau tak green technology nanti gempa bumi, tsunami tak terbendung uols!! Mangkuk! Haha

So we searched high and low for the atap nipah and finally found them in one of the nurseries. Costs RM3 per piece only. Now we have a more natural look in our garden for the rabbits that is of course more environmental friendly. Ehem!

In the car on the way to Sungai Buloh, Miki did something very touching. He browsed through The Star newspaper and found a big photo of a hot air balloon with a smiley face on it. Still super excited about the balloons (that he last seen in 2010), Miki tore out the photo from the newspaper and was holding on to it until THE NEXT DAY!

Dasyat Miki! Mummy nak syahdu pun ada… Nak tergelak pun ada… haishhh…

The next morning, we were determined to wake up early and catch the 8am balloon flight but it took a lot to be determined. We only managed to arrive in Putrajaya at 9.45am and of course there was only two-three balloons there going up and down, carrying passangers.

Since Miki wanted to see the smiley face balloon like the one in the pic he torn out from the paper, we just have to come back again in the afternoon. But before we leave, we went to Taman Warisan again for breakfast and this time the food sucks!

I bought nasi kerabu from one of the stalls and the girl behind the counter is a cross between super-lembab and super-mangkuk ayun tak paham bahasa. Sekian terima kasih!

At around 4pm we drove to Putrajaya again (third time over the weekend) and this time Miki managed to see the balloons fly although it was not as grand as we expect it. Last year was soooo much better. The cutest balloon was a cat shaped one and Miki was like.. OK! Next?!

But the little boy had fun and I am so glad he did. For dinner we went to Lake Garden Café at Precinct 2. It is between the New Millennium Monument and the new mosque. I read a tip on Foursquare that the café is under new management. That explains how they don’t even have a calculator but the food was GOOD!! Delicious!

The the tarik is Mamak-class! Azman had Laksa Utara that is really Laksa Utara instead of watery soupy whatever that KL people tend to claim as Laksa Utara. I had Lempeng Kelapa (coconut pancake). It was served with sugar, sambal, beef curry and chicken rendang. The chicken rendang is so nice! It tasted really like rendang pedas perak.. yang ada daun kunyit and other herbs! I like!

Let’s hope they keep up the good work with the food and unlike the Nasi Kerabu Taman Warisan, this place you guys ought to check out!

More on Miki, over the weekend, he has shown some interest and abilities to READ! Yay! He found call card from the old office and read out the 5 letter name of company and also my name! hooray!!! It is still a long way until he can read perfectly… but at least he has understood the concept.

You make Mummy daddy very proud this week Miki!

He is also doing very-very well with living without diapers. Good job kid! Today however, Miki is feverish. Must be the cold drizzle from yesterday. Hope his condition isn’t bad. Can’t wait to go home to him later.
Happy Monday everybody!

  6. Eja, Miki pun training lama juga.. byk kali give up.. umur 3 tahun baru Ok.. cara ajarnya macam biasalah.. 1)jgn bg pakai diapers 2) suruh dia cakap bila nak kencing 3)bawak dia pergi/ tanya dia nak kencing ke tak setiap 15 min

Skrg Miki mmg dah pandai tahan selagi tak sampai toilet… your daughter pun buat camtu..slow2 dia akan cakap bila nak sheeshee..
