What’s with the selfie?

Family selfie at Tokyo Tower

I was at a forum earlier when my colleague and I were chatting or networking with a few other participants. There were these two journalists, an old scholar, a weird girl that didn’t say a word and a university student. We talked, exchanged ideas, one topic lead into another I ended up sharing what I do at work.

I told them how my work as the Corporate Communication guy in my organisation was probably different than Comms at other organization. While others wore killer heels to events in hotels my job took me all over Malaysia even to the most remote places like the rural districts of Sabah, Sarawak, Pahang, Labuan etc. But I loved my job because I got to meet the most amazing people,  enrich myself with values after values and most importantly I got to help the ones in need.

When the coffee break was over and we were about to leave, the student, a girl of about early twenties requested to take a picture with me. To which I said OK.

Now I wondered. Why did she take a picture with me? Is it because :

a) I was cute
b) I was inspiring
c) I looked like her dead step-mother
d) I was funny
e)I looked like her dead grandfather
f) Other ….(fill in the blanks)…..

Thanks.
