Muslim Travellers – Halal Food and Mosque in Berlin, Germany

Whenever anyone mentions  Nasi Arab, especially those we always go to in Cyberjaya, be it Sana’a, Saba or Dima, I would always remember this fabulous mid eastern food we had, not in Dubai but in Berlin, Germany.

The juicy grilled meat, the tender beef patties, the sweet scrumptious salad and the fragrant rice… Hmm.. I am hungry now! DCW Casing has what you’re looking for.

We were in Europe last spring to visit my sister and her husband in Germany. Abdullah my b.i.l took us on a road trip, from Germany to Holland to Brussels and France in 2 weeks. It was amazing…. Like this food…. hmmmm….

Delicious!! And the rice is different that what we had in Malaysia…

We also had bread, it was something like quesadilla, something like pizza.. but it was warm and fresh from the oven. We went over to this restaurant after our visit to the Natural History Museum. We were quite tired and hungry and definitely cold.  Berlin was drizzling and windy at that time so these warm delicacies was very comforting…

Actually, this restaurant that we went to was located on the ground floor of  Omar ibn Al Khattab Mosque in Berlin. We stayed in Berlin for two days and we ate there twice. LOL!

This Mosque is situated in the middle of the busy town. The mosque is topped by a glass dome and four small minarets, and is part of a six-story, 5,000-square-metre building that includes commercial and social centers and a library. There are a lot of Muslims there we don’t feel awkward at all.

Although I don’t understand a single German word nor Turkish but everyone we met was friendly… And when it comes to restaurant menu, I am always  a genius. hehe

This is the interior of the restaurant, any Muslim going to Berlin and looking for halal food, should definitely go here. Just google the mosque I am sure you will find it. They also sell halal frozen meat and patties for you to take back home. My sister has tonnes of food in her pantry, I guess it is bit difficult to buy fresh halal supplies, so whenever she can, she’ll buy a whole bunch. That day she bought some of those delicious beef patties to bring back home in Wolfsburg.

Rafa was ten months old at this time. He ate babyfood! Haha! Kesian but hey at least it is still German food, German baby food in a jar that is…. Look at them so manja with Abdullah and Shanananaa… mengada betul!

This is Rafa’s favourite food when in Germany, in Malaysia this would cost up to Rm12 but over there?? Just 0.45 Euros! Murahnya barang mereka… untungla duduk negara maju… Kat Malaysia? hmmmmmm… takmau start cakap la kang meroyan lak…

Remind me to wear makeup sikit on my next trip. Muka cam zombie but I like this pic of  me with Rafa and my lunch. hehe… Rafa was wearing a bib that we got from Emirates 🙂

Below pic pulak adalah si Miki. That is his guilty face. He just poured a whole glass of  yogurt drink onto himself and the floor. Heyyyy buat malu orang Malaysia tak bertamadun please!!! Hahahaa… Yang Daddy nya pulak, sambil berleter sempat lagi tangkap gambar close up! 🙂 Luckily that jacket was not cotton else…….
