Berangan-angan Alice In Wonderland at the Rose Garden of Los Angeles – USA Vacation Day 4

los ángeles rose garden

Hi there, if you are new to this blog, maybe you wanna check out my earlier entries on our recent Californian vacation.  In the morning before we went to this Rose Garden, we went to see the Hollywood Sign and visited the Natural History Museum of LA.

This Exposition Park Rose Garden of Los Angeles is actually situated next to the dinosaur museum. Easy for us cause we didn’t have to drive out to another location. While walking from the museum to the garden, from afar I could already see colours! So much colours… Splashes of all shades of red, orange, white, yellow oh so pretty!

When I was in Paris last year, I saw rose bushes is Disneyland but they were only bearing buds. Yet to bloom into sweet roses. I told Azman maybe if we come 2 or 3 weeks later we would be able to see those rose bushes in full bloom. And I guess this time my dream come true not in Paris but in Los Angeles… jadilah… Alhamdulillah….

I took lots of photos of the many unique and beautiful roses that is very rare in Malaysia but took them with my phone and I guess you guys have read that I lost that awesome machine.

Anyway, we were quite tired after all the walking we did in the museum so we had a such a nice time just sitting on the fluffy green grass among the fragrant flowers. My favourite was the white roses that were growing so gloriously like in the picture above. As I sat there I almost hoped for a white rabbit to hop about but if it was carrying a pocket watch I would just die of a cardiac arrest. hehe!

This reminded me so much of Alice In Wonderland not just the movie starring Johnny Depp but the story I heard and read since I was a child. It was such a nice feeling… To be able to forget work, life and all and be euphoric about your childhood… I guess that’s why we need vacations after all. To refresh. To push the restart button on your brain…

Anyway, the sun was really bright and so bodoh lah we didn’t bring our sunglasses… It was in the car somewhere…Check out the roses behind us in the above picture. Pink, maroon, peach… and they smell so nice…

The rose garden was actually really huge. In the centre there was a fountain that provides even more refreshing ambiance to the garden. So sayang our family pictures there was missing. Else you could see how the water gleamed and seagulls came flying in…. Yes seagulls not pigeons… Different than home sweet home…

I also saw thiss glorious rose bush full of flowers probably the size of Miki’s face. And they were purple! Yes purple! But the bush was at the other side of the garden and Miki was nagging for ice-cream. Haihhh…

miki and blueberry

Hahaha last picture was Miki with a blueberry plant. This was in the edible garden belonged to the museum. I envy how vegetables, fruits and herb could grow so well and so effortlessly  in the colder climate… It took a lot of time and work to grown vegetables in our garden.. But hey must syukur I have a garden and got the opportunity to visit these lovely places…

After the Rose Garden, we weren’t ready to call it a day. We headed to RODEO DRIVE! Write about that later. Have a great Monday and have a productive week ahead! 🙂
